radres··on Google buys crashed airline Spirit's data at auction
they wrote a shit article while trying to make some airline puns
radres··on Show HN: Call Me, your AI agents ring you with no extra carrier costs
My server does basic tts then uses iOS’s call api. just like how whatsapp can call you.

there are ofc server and transcription costs but it is like cents per call. and to keep costs low call itself is not a “conversation” you just tell your instructions and it is transcribed to text and sent back to agent.

radres··on EU Fines Google $1.02B for Favoring Its Own Services
Good god. That was an EU thing?
radres··on Google's Antigravity Bait and Switch
Sadly since couple of years or so ago we forgot about UX. Or quality in general. I have a companion which tells me I did everything right before pushing to prod. WCGW
radres··on Enough AI copilots, we need AI HUDs
One of the simplest and best working applications of AI is the gpts living in your clipboard. Any prompt/workflow you have is assignable to a shortcut on demand and it pops up a chat window with response on demand. It's been game changing honestly.
radres··on A 10-Year Battery for AirTag
Good god. Do you see how good things happen when you let people change their fucking batteries?
radres··on Squatting in Spain: Understanding Spain's "okupas" problem
Demand of people is the only way of inflating the prices. The people who would like to live in Spain, both Spanish people and non-Spanish, are the people who make your country as rich as it is.

Am I hearing you saying "What rich? we have poor economy". Yeah, prevent people from investing in real estate and you'll be even poorer.

radres··on I am sick of LeetCode-style interviews
If I am interviewing someone and if they ask me if they can google X, if it is easily googlable, I would just tell them what it is. Or let them google it. But I do not expect them to spend minutes googling it.

It is really unlikely, given a leetcode hard level problem to solve within 25-35 minutes and you can google your way out of it unless you are googling for the solution.

radres··on I got tired of hearing that YC fired Sam, so here's what actually happened
Everyone is trying to read the tweet but not talking about what it actually means. This tweet is yelling "Look Sam, if you have any problems, come the fuck back. We realize we loved you, even if we wanted you gone."
radres··on GPT-4o
What popped out to me in the "bunny ear" video, the bunny ears are not actually visible to the phone's camera Greg is holding. Are they in the background feeding the production camera and this is not really a live demo?
radres··on GPT-4o
it is so similar! almost it is inspired by "Her"
radres··on Stop Acting Like You're Famous
Anyone knows how I can get the same style of this blog? I can't access the css for some reason /s
radres··on M 4.8 – 2024 Whitehouse Station, New Jersey Earthquake
well, potential regions do not include east coast US at all.
radres··on I Was Illegally Fired by Amazon for Speaking Out About a Coworker's Death (2023)
Global loss could be due to expanding FCs. Does not mean it is not a profitable business elsewhere.
radres··on 41 Years in UX: A Career Retrospective
How can you be happy that you did not join Apple in 1990?
radres··on ChatGPT does Advent of Code 2023
ofc, chatgpt can do better in previous years given that solutions discussed all over the internet and could've train on them.
radres··on When a postdoc in my lab committed fraud, I had to face my own culpability
not really. in your analogy Elizabeth Holmes already the culprit.

Professor would be responsible of fraud if they learn about it and ignore it.

radres··on Polish trains lock up when serviced in third-party workshops
Depends on country's laws and contracts between parties. If the contract does not mandate service by the manufacturer, only suggests it, this sounds illegal. Not because of hacking, because of not documenting behavior and disturbing state entity hence the people.
radres··on Making it clear when we're on a call with you to protect you from fraud
people who fall for scams on phone are the ones who wouldn't hear about news like this.
radres··on OpenAI staff threaten to quit unless board resigns
what does that even mean?
radres··on How to find a lost phone in a no-cell-coverage camping site?
Really would like to know which city this is. As others commented many of the police force would've responded "tough luck"
radres··on Instagram apologizes for inserting 'terrorist' into Palestinian bio translations
you have a strong passport and clueless what other people go through.
radres··on Googling for answers costs time (2020)
Definitely the fact that I am not going to deal with ads when I am looking for something is a gamechanger.
radres··on Submarine missing near Titanic used a $30 Logitech gamepad for steering
Sure, because this does not happen in commercial aircrafts.
radres··on Average color of the NYC sky every 5 minutes
So simple yet beautiful!
radres··on Erdogan hands cash to supporters at polling station
It is a tradition in Turkey that elders give young ones some money on religious holidays.

I have nothing against this video as a Turkish person opposes Erdogan. Biggest notes he is handing out is like 10 USD as of today's exchange rate. It is just an image of elder person taking care of the young.

radres··on Don Knuth plays with ChatGPT
I am struck by the fact the Donald Knuth bikes to work at age 85.
radres··on GitHub Copilot Chat Leaked Prompt
I made a twitter bot and specifically told the bot to act like a human, and be bit of an asshole (to gain more interactions). Then someone got angry and asked "Who are you!!!" and my bot replied "I am an AI language model..." I mean, come on GPT.
