raddad··on What we’re doing to the Earth has no parallel in 66M yrs, scientists say
I suspect this is why there is such a push for space travel these days. Those with the means will journey off to some habitable place or one they can make habitable, and leave everybody else behind in the toxic wasteland. All those sci-fi movies might be predicting the future of planet earth; they have before.

>Why is the US giving billions of dollars to a foreign nation while her own citizens are in dire need of those funds? I guess the better questions is, how do the people allow this to happen?

Because the war mongers are a huge industry and there is no department of peace.

One would think after thousands of years of war to "bring about peace" one would try something new. I can't be the only one on the globe to know what the definition of insanity is.

RF leaks are an old tune, NSA was using it back in the 60's I believe. There was an article in Wired about this topic in 2008[0] Gene Hackman and Will Smith in a movie Enemy Of The State (2009)[1] hinted at this technology.

I said something similar only a couple days ago. Then I realized, that's not what I want; what I want is for the pain and hurt to stop. What a long coming revelation that was.

It takes time. Like what @evincarofautumn said, you get stronger. Never forget where you come from. Efforts count. Collect some useful tools. You might try http://www.7cupsof tea.com

Why couldn't online news operate like HN, people submit and the news get's upvoted?

Here's an example of member written and submitted news.

http://www.opednews.com/

Woa !! Google search for member submitted news comes up with 246 million results !!

Disclaimer: I have no idea of the quality of any of these member submitted news pages. They could all be wack jobs. Opednews does have some good writers.

>I'm actually working on building free online treatment for depression right now.

It already exists. 7 Cups of Tea

"Glen Moriarty, Founder and CEO, is a psychologist passionate about the Internet’s power to help people lead better lives. He has been involved in a number of services and organizations that support people in need. 7 Cups of Tea is his most recent endeavor; marrying his background in psychology with his love for technology. raddad··on Unsafe Lead Levels in Tap Water Not Limited to Flint
Carbon filtration doesn't remove fluoride, does it? (Or arsenic) The only water filtration system I have found that removes fluoride is the Berkey brand. I've not seen any filtration systems in the stores even mentioning fluoride or arsenic.

raddad··on What it would take to actually institute Universal Basic Income
Exactly. A disabled guy collects $908 a month which is 10896 annually, with housing and food stamps it comes to $18744 annually. The difference of $7848 annually is social services to allow survival and to keep all those social service employees employed. Figure 56.7 million disabled people in the USA(0), that's a lot of cake. $445 billion on top of the disability checks. I think this would cover the cost of the program plus save a bundle on social service employment. Average social worker earns $45,000 annually(1). 649,300 social workers (1) (2014) totals $29.2 billion.

I don't believe we could eliminate all the social workers, but a substantial number of them.
