Based in Atlanta @quizbiz on twitter www.graftinglegacy.com Contact me for coaching or consulting services.
Rather utilizing Twitter to suck up to journalists hoping they notice, I note how DDG has created an online community that advocates loudly and clearly. Read: DDG has users that feel apart of the brand so much so that they engage journalists.
DDG's strong community is obvious here on HN and the internal forum is a great idea too. Credit to Gabriel for knowing not just the importance of being transparent but also HOW to express himself and his brand.
I'm only wondering how this can be applied to B2B brands where it's harder to gain traction with people that have the time to advocate.
I have been dying for a sidebar solution where I can take notes and write while I read a webpage. As it is, I always have Notational Velocity open on the right and Safari open on the left.
I'm surprised we haven't seen any sort of public awareness campaign geared towards learning computer science. Only recently is it starting to be "cool" and equivalent to lawyers/doctors.
I created a quick landing page (http://prototypecases.weebly.com/). Easy to add built in contact forms, integration with Google's web fonts was nice, built in SEO tags to paste html. Tons of layouts to pick from and a super easy way to add images.
I was very impressed by how easy it was to put together and how fast customizing the site is. Classically, when it comes to this sort of thing, I think Wordpress but drag and drop is a very marketable feature for Weebly. I'm impressed.
I do have to note that the control panel timed out and the site displayed some sort of app disconnection error several times.
I know Apple is sitting on a lot of cash. A lot.
I think it would be fascinating to see Apple purchase Bing and rebrand it. With search built into the iPhone and the future value of mobile search in mind, I think it would be near foolish for Apple to miss this opportunity. Otherwise, no matter how well the iPhone does, Google will still always have its hand in mobile advertising money.
But what do I know?
I think it would place Apple and Google in a very interesting competitive position.
Do you guys have anything that will allow in-site upload to posterous? ie: Uploading a video to Posterous through a form on my site?
Just feel like without this comment, your comment might not stand out to many.
