pyrocat··on Oculus Rift
Interestingly enough, it looks like it will be wireless, which currently isn't possible with the PC. The Xbox One controller is only wireless for Xbox, the drivers/wireless receiver aren't available for PC. I wonder if they partnered with Microsoft to make it wireless?
pyrocat··on Oculus Rift
Why reinvent the wheel? The xbox controller is widely considered the gold standard.
pyrocat··on Oculus Rift
Oh yeah? I can't find where it says you can replace them with their own. That'd be cool though.

You're conflating the tech industry with the video game industry. Not all unions are a nightmare, they're there for employee protection. If you specifically are in a privileged enough position to not need a union, you have still benefited from the existence of them.
pyrocat··on Google: 90% of our engineers use the software you wrote (Homebrew), but...
Why? He's under no obligation to Google. It's not like they hired him and he has to sign an NDA or be polite. He had a frustrating interview process and vented about it online, it's a pretty human thing to do. Why would that make him a bad employee?

It sounds like you have a bone to pick with black men. Try reading some recent data: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/04/20/upshot/missing...

pyrocat··on Forgotten Corners of World of Warcraft
On a related note, WoW has plenty of private shards where you can relive old WoW content. Everquest has one too, Project1999, dedicated to the first two expansions only.

pyrocat··on Project Fi by Google
Not sure about the per minute pricing, but the data cost is low.

> There is nothing white people can do to fix this.

Well, except confronting our own biases, encouraging diverse hiring practices, confronting both overt and covert racism when we see it, educating ourselves on racial privilege, fighting racial profiling and sentencing in our justice system, and just in general fighting for racial equality.

pyrocat··on Videogame Publishers: No Preserving Abandoned Games Because “Hacking” Is Illegal
That's a 71 page document. If you understand the "more thoughtful and nuanced" argument from the ESA, would you mind writing it up? I feel like one of the services the EFF provides is reading through these documents, summarizing their arguments, and providing a "is this shitty or not" perspective to a wider audience.
