pondababa··on Turkish drone shooting heralds a new age of civillian counter-surveillance
It's unlikely that it will hit someone, but it can, so you don't do it. Remember rule 4: know your target and what's beyond it. You don't pull the trigger unless you know where each projectile will come to rest.

What do you mean by "simulated" in this case? What makes it look that way? It just looks to me as if one of the rotors got knocked out.
pondababa··on Do You Have A Right to Remain Silent? Thoughts on Salinas v. Texas
You can be detained without being under arrest. When you get pulled over for a traffic stop, you aren't under arrest, but you are being detained.
pondababa··on Choosing Hong Kong Is a Brilliant Move by Edward Snowden
Eh? What evidence is there for this, or is it like the JFK conspiracy theories?

pondababa··on Why I Let My Students Cheat On Their Exam
It says there are 27 students, three of whom opted out.
pondababa··on "Asswipe," replied Yahoo's server. That's when I knew I had it

pondababa··on Explosions near Boston Marathon finish line
What? The explosion was just before 3:00 pm.
pondababa··on What happens when the Secret Service uses a NSL on you
That said, I wouldn't take the lack of a notice like that as a sign that I'm not being monitored.
pondababa··on Chrome World Wide Maze
When my iPhone 3G's screen broke, the bottom part of the LCD broke--just enough to cover the keyboard. I was abroad, so for the month until I got home, I learned to touch type on my iPhone.
pondababa··on The inside story of Lenovo's ThinkPad redesign
I actually prefer the old Thinklight. I often use it as a reading light for notes while I'm working on my computer.
pondababa··on US Supreme Court to Hear Monsanto Seed Patent Case
Or Blackwater, for that matter?
pondababa··on I am Facebook friends with Ryan Lanza
They are supposed to double check--see Gertz v. Robert Welch, Inc.. When a person who is not a public figure is defamed, the plaintiff only has to show that the defendant was negligent in making his defamatory statements, rather than the standard of recklessness to which he would be held in a case involving a public figure.

pondababa··on UChicago receives package for Indiana Jones
Rosenwald is also the admissions building. It may very well be a fanboy applicant to the University.
