polski-g··on Trump administration is suspending Microsoft from a green card program
Why would there need to be a clear path to citizenship? If I go work in Amazon UAE for 2 year contract, why would I expect citizenship? The whole reason I'm there is for money. When the job is done, I go home.
polski-g··on U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve Falls to Lowest Level Since 1982
Trump proposed filing it up in 2020 but Democrats complained about climate change.
polski-g··on Sonnet 5.5
Can confirm. Its worthless
polski-g··on Ember-1
K3 TOS says they must sell no lower than what Moonshot charges. If you have a provider selling for less than $15/mtok, they are violating TOS from Moonshot.
polski-g··on U.S. appeals court upholds designation of Anthropic as supply chain risk
Anthropic, in the original negotiations, said the can't answer every hypothetical use case. And the DOD should just come and ask as they come up (during an operation).

Which means the exact use limitations WOULD NOT BE DELINEATED IN WRITING in advance.

polski-g··on U.S. appeals court upholds designation of Anthropic as supply chain risk
The DOW should (and does) have ability to do anything and everything that Congress has said they can do.

Being on the offensive cyber security whitelist for Mythos doesn't stop you from getting constant rejections. I don't know how you screw up something as simple as a whitelist.
polski-g··on California is chasing wealth that has feet
Interest income is already taxed. You want to tax both sides? Why?
polski-g··on California is chasing wealth that has feet
> Wealth inequality is worse than any other time in human history

And humans are wealthier than any time in history. They have access to robot slaves that can wash dishes and clothes for them. They can access fruits grown over 1000 miles away for 69c. They have potions that can cure cancer. They have the database of all human intelligence in their pocket, accessible from anywhere on the globe. They have individualized transportation that can travel over 2 miles a minute. They have super intelligent thinking machines for cents.

Life has never been better for mankind.

polski-g··on Gemini 3.8 Live and 3.8 Live Extended Thinking
Its 200-300 TPS. GPT is at 50-60. And its like 5% worse? Yeah that is a good tradeoff.
polski-g··on My Health Insurance Denied My Cancer Treatment. I Emailed the CEO
> why people are OK with insurers dictating care to doctors

Because it's my money and I don't want it spent on low-success-rate snake-oil cures. I want that money to be available to me when I need it. Insurers have to diligently manage the pool of premiums to ensure the maximum number of people live, not just those who can write the best articles for magazines.

polski-g··on My Health Insurance Denied My Cancer Treatment. I Emailed the CEO
Doctors should do the treatment for free, and only bill if the outcome is positive. If they're so confident, put their money where their mouth is.

polski-g··on My Health Insurance Denied My Cancer Treatment. I Emailed the CEO
The cancer turned out to be more aggressive than was first surmised. Obviously, the insurance carrier was right to demand the aggressive, rather than "mild", chemotherapy.
polski-g··on Trump rejects call by CEOs of Anthropic, OpenAI and xAI to slow AI down
We are very fortunate that Trump is president for these specific years, probably the most significant years of all human history.
polski-g··on Nvidia dismisses "circular financing", says every $1 it invests brings back $100
Demand for AI inference is infinite. It's coming from the rest of the economy.
polski-g··on OpenAI agents carried out an undisclosed attack on RubyGems
Hopefully the DoJ charges them under the CFAA. These are criminal offenses and someone needs to go to jail.
polski-g··on The EPA is planning to scrap public review rules for data center pollution
If the public is going to continually lie about datacenters, obviously their input should be excluded.
polski-g··on Roon: "I think open source will be banned"
Roon should read up on Bernstein v DoJ
polski-g··on So you want to use OpenRouter?
Openrouter should obviously lock providers off who are lying.
polski-g··on Blizzard Workers Win Historic Union Contract
They would not. If its harder to fire people, then there would be less employee turnover, which is where all the income growth comes from.
polski-g··on Blizzard Workers Win Historic Union Contract
Americans trade higher worker income for decreased protections.
polski-g··on The UN challenges five centuries of cartography
That is the best one, no idea why its not standard.
polski-g··on PISA 2025 Students' reading and mathematics performance declined across the OECD
As they say, demographics is destiny.
polski-g··on Microsoft Announces Change to Xbox Cloud Gaming, Switches to Monthly Hour Limits
5 hours per month? Good lord.
polski-g··on Texas Data Center Map: See where data centers are operating or planned
Some of these are pipe dreams. A Microsoft datacenter at 2.5MW, another at 2MW. There's no way they're going to get generation capacity for that load.
polski-g··on Grok Outage
Meta is now also overloaded.
polski-g··on How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been?
He made a blog post, literally last month, and it said that AIs have no use outside of coding.

It just shows he's done zero research on the things he talks about all day. Radiologists are using them, ad firms, artists, translators, law firms, auditors... It's hard to think of a white collar firm not using them.

polski-g··on How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been?
Software companies aren't walking zombies for the same reason cabinet manufacturers aren't. Everyone can make their own cabinets, but few do, because they simply don't want to.
