plink··on The Red Hourglass: Self-Experimentation with Black Widow Bites
So, because the old African-American entertainment of a cakewalk never gained the same eminence earned (deservedly) by jazz or tap, then it is to be considered racist and on par with a slur? The discussion over this matter seems itself to be an entertainment and a craven one.
plink··on Artist trademarks 'Pi' symbol, enrages the web
Did Mr. Ingrisano actually create and copyright a particular font used with his trademarked symbol or does his trademark apply to any use of that symbol followed by a period? Is the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office testing how thin the ice upon which it can skate before the entire institution falls through?
plink··on The Great Smartphone War
Even at the consumer level: go purchase a new Samsung TV and read their data-mining TOS.
plink··on AT&T Threatens Boycott if TV Airwaves Auction Rules Aren’t Changed
Hey AT&T, cry me a river.
plink··on Patent troll CEO explains why company wants names of EFF donors
Is there any organization encouraging Texas' secession from the Union? If there is, maybe we should just make donations to them.
plink··on Comcast is donating to defeat mayor who is bringing gigabit fiber to Seattle
I was about to make a donation to the PAC of Concerned Good Patriots for Niceness and Helpfulness. Then I looked into the organization and discovered it was run by nonagenarian ss officers intent on converting welfare recipients into soylent-green. Imagine my astonishment!
plink··on Namecheap now offer .io domains
dang! eie.io is taken.
plink··on Rather than savage cuts, Switzerland considers “Star Trek” economics
I don't reckon we here in the U.S. would ever cotton to such a pro-shiftless social policy. Smacks of intellectualism to me. Even of Communism, and you know down what slippery path that "ism" can lead: It was Joe Stalin's money what gave us the Cato Institute.
plink··on Karma - pay as you go data by sharing your hotspot
"Vomitous" is the word that came to my mind.
plink··on Man, stranded in the desert, makes a motorcycle from his broken car
Yes, after eating his photographer he called the front desk to extend his stay until the licence plate and kickstand were assembled.
plink··on My Doctor's Office Asked Me To Lie
"listed my job title as 'oner'"

An obvious construction error. Just as one who plays piano isn't called a "pianoer", the account manager must have meant "onanist". Did you finally strike him in the face with your gloves?

plink··on TSA agents forced crying 4-year-old to undergo pat-down after hug
"She said TSA agents had shouted at the girl, telling her to calm down and saying the suspect wasn’t cooperating."

What suspect? Suspected of what? This kind of pervasive cop-speak strips language of relevant meaning.

plink··on Going With The Flow: Google’s Secret Switch To The Next Wave Of Networking
Accurate for maybe a text-based talk client, but you wouldn't use UDP for docs or email. I expected more from Steven Levy.
plink··on Santorum Pledges Pornography Blackout Using Lawsuits & SOPA-style ISP Filtering
Does the chiaroscuro effect in that photo come from a torchlight procession in front of his dais?
plink··on A Dad’s Plea To Developers Of iPad Apps For Children
I am discussing the tendency of some developers of apps for children to deliberately swindle their naive audience. You are, by account of your latest post, talking to hear your own head rattle. Good day.
plink··on A Dad’s Plea To Developers Of iPad Apps For Children
If you were capable of actually reading my post and not what you wanted to read into it, you would see that I was referring to chiseling children out of large sums re the post I was answering. Selling a child $99 worth of cartoon pony feed is mere cretinous larceny. This type of behavior actually happens. This is what we are condemning. I was not criticizing in-app up-selling, which I presume you mean to defend, but maybe I presume too much. Perhaps you are in the cretin camp.
plink··on A Dad’s Plea To Developers Of iPad Apps For Children
Market conditions can be constrained by regulations such as Apple's prohibition against pornography. Eighteenth century USA excused slavery as the price of doing business before government regulations altered those market conditions. Prior to such changes the practice was no less scummy. In-App kid-chiseling falls squarely in the category of scummy.
plink··on UK Police: download a file, go to jail for 10 years and pay an "unlimited" fine
The MPAA, RIAA, and their overseas counterparts are ratcheting up the contempt with which they are viewed by society. DIY gravediggers they are.
plink··on SOPA Opponents May Go Nuclear
Google, Apple, Facebook, etc., should just buy these media giants. The RIAA and MPAA would become like cockroaches ripe for stomping upon. That would be the real and permanent nuclear option.
plink··on Photographers: Please Stop Using Flash
Yes, I was all on board with a possible "it drowns out the color."
plink··on The Coming War on General Purpose Computation
They will "get it" only if the video is accompanied by campaign contributions.
plink··on RFC: Blanking all Wikipedia as SOPA protest
>Their political careers need to end that day.

Yes, so they can forthwith proceed to the lobbyist phase of their careers.

plink··on [dead]
Those photos are substantive proof that the Iranians are masters in the art of tacky propaganda bunting.
plink··on Fliers Must Turn Off Devices, but It’s Not Clear Why
Was it the pilot in the article who cited the hyperbolic number 15? It's hard to be simultaneously flippant and convincing.
plink··on Healthcare
If money were to follow the student free from map restrictions, then how can education be contained by state governance?
plink··on Universal Music Sues Grooveshark for 100,000 Illegal Uploads
"UMG is seeking maximum damages of up to $150,000 per infringement from Grooveshark, which could mean more than a $15 billion payout if the lawsuit is successful."

If the RIAA/MPAA should rule our world, then $15 billion should be the price of a sandwich.

plink··on Mobile ‘Rootkit’ Maker Tries to Silence Critical Android Dev
"Andrew Coward, Carrier IQ’s marketing manager, said in a telephone interview Tuesday that the company, not Eckhart, should be in “control” of the manuals."

When they jokingly told Andrew that "PR" stood for "Pernicious Reputation" they didn't think he'd take them seriously.

plink··on Something Disintegrates at a Burger King
Lummoxine plunging headlong into their troughs and wrassling is of interest to whom exactly, and tarnishes whom?
plink··on Gates to students: Don’t try to be a billionaire, it’s overrated
Did Boris Badenov or Tonto transcribe the talk? Me having trouble finding definite articles therein.
plink··on Patent Troll: Anyone Using WiFi Infringes; Won't Sue Individuals 'At This Stage'
Do the descendants of Joseph Guillotin still hold the patent on his invention? I fancy a scenario unfolding in today's environment that might vastly enrich his heirs.
