penetrarthur··on Investing in Games: Broad or Deep?
The whole article is based on an inefficient offer. The second offer is wrong by definition. The article should have been about one game VS several games + infrastructure if needed not one game VS infrastructure + several games. Games are not regular startups - they don't solve your everyday problems. Games are rather about experience. A small game that requires "not that big" investments might be much better experience-wise than a game which has "very much" money pumped in it.
penetrarthur··on Ask HN: What's the greatest thing on the Internet?
Reddit.
penetrarthur··on LG G Watch R
I own a moto360 one for almost a month now. You are probably not going to say "ok google" all the time so most of the features that require your voice are pretty useless. To be honest I only use them when driving. What I really use it for is: 1) Check who is calling. If I am on a meeting or otherwise busy I can drop the call. 2) Read messages/gmail(full message)/whatsapp etc. I will have to get the phone out of the pocket only if I need to respond. 3) Notifications/reminders/weather reports etc.

penetrarthur··on Ask HN: What would you build if you would be a multi-billionare?
Sounds like you have been doing quite a lot of research.
penetrarthur··on Ask HN: Ways to increase mental sharpness or intelligence?
Estraidol is a hormone. Don't mess with the hormones.

penetrarthur··on Show HN: Kaffee Bitte, specialty coffee delivery for Germany
Chrome translate is really good with this site.
penetrarthur··on Ask HN: Everyone loves my startup concept, why is no one using it?
I still have no idea what your product does. Make at least a video(2-3 minutes) that defines the problem and shows how it is solved using your software.
penetrarthur··on Moscow subway sells free tickets for 30 sit-ups
The movie is about "some absurd country", which was a laugh at Soviet Union. A country that is developed enough to send shuttles to space, but on the other hand is an empty desert with overpowered police(in the movie they are called "ecilop"), dumb leaders that people worship etc. Movie is definitely a must-see.
penetrarthur··on In Latvia, young people discover new passions in bad economic times
Latvian here.

The so called "startups" that are mentioned in the article are just a fancy way of entertaining hipsters who are children of rather wealthy(by the local standards) parents. The Erenpreiss bicycles are owned solely by rich children. There is no way that can be called a startup.

> But last year, Davis Kanepe, 28, took matters into his own hands in Riga. He leased a crumbling, Italianate music school building on a down-on-its-heels corner in the middle of the city and, with some friends, turned it into a bar and cultural center.

I have been there, guys. Its just a piss poor empty bar, with cheap booze, full of teenagers, and people who call themselves "artists".

The constant comparison with Estonian skype makes sick. Its like saying that "Maybe US will be as good as Canada, because Justin Bieber is from Canada" whenever you speak about music.

Creatine? Creatine is not even absorbed unless you do a strength workout several times a week. And it takes some for your stomach to get used to it.
penetrarthur··on Samsung agency is buying off StackOverflow users
So in the end you've chosen to advertise it on HN?
penetrarthur··on Wuala: Secure Cloud Storage
Wuala is terrible. It is constantly eating up 30% of cpu when idling. Sometimes it doesn't sync at all for a few days. There is a "Use LAN" feature, but it doesn't work.
penetrarthur··on How much sleep do we really need to work productively?
Noone ever mentioned that your muscles need sleep for proper functioning. Try sleeping 6 hours a day and working out 4 times a week. I give you two weeks.
penetrarthur··on Thanks to the ZenBook, I'm no longer recommending MacBooks
First rule of "hackers" - you do not recommend macbooks.

penetrarthur··on Show HN: I built a tool I wanted to have, but didn’t exist
Its gonna take me 5 hours to make this app so it suites my needs and one more day to make it usable for everyone.

Basically you are selling the time it took you to add all the blogs to your search engine + the CPU time it takes to parse the results.
