We’ve got the tools to explore unknowns.
Now, as to regulation. It could be written in a way that would relieve that “developer-of-record” out of responcibility provided they did their due diligence and, if new unknown happened that wasn’t foreseen the regulations will adapt and change and make a learning out of it, just like it was with building industry and road rules.
When did a building in Tokio crumble from an earthquake last time? Long-long-long time ago for a place where earthquakes are almost daily experience.
The fact that US infrastracture is poorly designed and mantained does not say anything about our technology and capabilities, it only tells us that our social and political systems suck. In some places of that planet.
More often than not no one (bug some rare customer probably) gives a damn about you going extra mile. Often it is actually punished, not directly but I've had plenty of examples when people instead of doing extra ventured into doing some fun shit for other teams and uh-oh, cross-team impact, here's your promotion while your actual team is struggling to get right the boring but actually money bringing stuff.
So no, money first please.
What I'm saying is that EU has means of causing negative consequence for Poland (and any other member) should they decide to engage into activities that are incompatible with EU values (like violating human rights, breaking trade agreements made by EU, etc).
Oh, EU has got ways to screw Poland all right, don’t you worry.
Like right now lots of local governments there are reverting certain anti-LGBT laws to get to EU grants or whatever it’s called.
Exactly this. I can easily imagine somewhere in some OS slack channel in Apple:
hardware dev: hey dear @channel we're breaking NVME spec in couple places and we're kinda running out of time to fix it, would be so kind to address it in you drivers if it's not too hard?
os guy: yeah, no worries those seem trivial, we can easily adjust.
hardware guy: cool, thanks a bunch.
Practice is often different from theory.
Now having written that and looking at you user handle I realise that you might think that mangoes are firm and you can stack it.
Well, those firm mangoes you see in super markets are not ripe, they are green. Ripe mangoes we buy here in Australia are soft, you can damage them with you fingers and I would like to keep them for at least couple weeks.
That's boot of my Subi Forester and that is not the fullest it is ever been. During mango season we even take a bit of passenger space. That box of oranges is was 5 AUDs btw.
As a family person that runs to fruit market every several weeks and brings back a boot load of fruits in boxes it is hard to understand how a sedan can suffice.
Having said that huge SUVs are overkill too, something like Subaru Forester/Outback or RAV-4 seems to be the sweet spot for people with less than 3 children. With 3 children you start looking at something with 3rd row of seats.
Also I don't see how can innovation be equated with support of PWA notifications and porn apps and launchers?
