p0w3n3d··on Google is making private AI practical with homomorphic encryption
That's not what I meant. I meant botnet taken over by Google
p0w3n3d··on Going Dark, and the era of law enforcement hacking
Yeah I find the phone-taken images much worse than camera-taken even despite the astonishing number of megapixels and amount of technologies promised in the phones nowadays. Sadly most people don't buy the camera because it's too expensive and you need prepare yourself to take it with you (so the most photos are taken instantly with the phone)
p0w3n3d··on Google is making private AI practical with homomorphic encryption
Ideally: we will have private AI

Reality: our computers will be used as distributed AI calculators

p0w3n3d··on 'Not acceptable': Judge orders Google to make rival app store installs easier

p0w3n3d··on From 13.5M installs to 499 active devices
It's quite funny that (I am neither an English native speaker) I cannot tell anything bad and all your writing sounds great to me, but English natives see the AI in an obvious manner.

I forgot about SSD coins (the crypto that destroys disks, forgot the name)
p0w3n3d··on A 'super' El Niño could transform the Amazon. Is the biggest rainforest doomed?
I wonder what about heating it more with AI centres though
p0w3n3d··on Delphi 13 Community Edition Is Now Available
I remember Pascal as a so tidy and clean language... And verbose. Very verbose... And calling win API was a horror
p0w3n3d··on OpenAI’s head of ethics leaves less than a year after joining
Marketing and management - the root of 50-80% of evil in the word (or as Christians say: greed - second deadly sin)
p0w3n3d··on Chicken Scheme 6.0
By the way, what do you use to postprocess your DVDs? My experience is that DVDs had awful quality and got interlaced unless using a good player (like cyberlink powerdvd) which was always improving with the video greatly and deinterlacing it?
p0w3n3d··on As AI eats the web, the internet’s collective memory is disappearing
Hello negative feedback loop.
p0w3n3d··on Why My Father Is Wrong: A Defense of Guitar Hero
Guitar hero was amazing. I wonder if it is possible to still buy the gear
p0w3n3d··on Tech leaders say AI means less work – staff say they work up to 90 hours a week
I'd say the worst 80% of the evil in the world comes from the management and the marketing.

E.g. Boeing crashes - from the management.

Private minecraft servers are illegal? - management

No disc selling from Playstation? - Marketing

Why mentioning here? Because the greedy marketing team again told managers the AI is making people 100x more efficient without any proof, anything, just to sell sell sell. And the greedy managers again got fooled, and that's what we're witnessing here.

According to my experience the LLM assistance gives 0.5x-10x boost unevenly. This is really hard to predict, it's really fast on the first phase but getting lost in deep tasks, and looks like being optimised to win at the Turing test, but slack later

p0w3n3d··on Itadakimasu: A word you say to the food, not the cook
That's really interesting. For example in Polish (and I'd say in French too, not an expert though), we say "smacznego" which means "may it taste good to you" which is yet another direction, not to cook, not to the spirits or God, but to y'all who eat with me. I'd say this is another cultural peculiarity. Other languages have similar phrases: "enjoy your meal". I'd say "bon appetit", or "buen provecho" is also directed on goods that flow from the food. This is man-centric. Wishing well all the people because we're having a wonderful feast here.

What is really curious is how we take this food "greeting" is somehow similar to how we take the article. When article was written by a human, an effort was taken and we are happy to accept it and we feed on it, we imagine the person writing, giving us the love (as similar to buen provecho), sending it to other people who will read it. I never thought about it this way until now. But when the article was written by AI we start to see the no-effort AI farm or company that tries to lure us to read it and probably earn money or respect. These assumptions may be truly mistaken, as sometimes this is a person writing but e.g. they asked AI to correct the text and the correction has been made inhuman.

TL;DR So eventually that's the author person good will we're seeking, when reading the article. The connection were striving for. Quite eye opening.

p0w3n3d··on Itadakimasu: A word you say to the food, not the cook
As a non-native English speaker I am both astonished and terrified. Astonished that you people hear or see this difference, which is undetectable for me. Terrified that people learn English from the internet, and soon these unnatural constructions will become mainstream for us.

EDIT.

Also by using and contacting with AI won't English native speakers get accustomed to that AI-speak?

p0w3n3d··on Mars Bar from 1991 found – and it's 20g bigger than today's
TBH chocolate bar shouldn't be too large because you usually eat it as a whole. But chips, butter, chocolate etc. shouldn't be downsized. It's simply cheating
p0w3n3d··on How I use LLMs to learn complex topics
TBH I was expecting something different. When I use LLM for learning I ask it to make questions for me. It's genius in these tasks. I moderate it to not kill me with difficulty but otherwise it's friendly to help me learn and understand
p0w3n3d··on Mythos Attempted to Social Engineer Open Source Maintainer to Merge Malware
Okay so first of all - not Mythos but some engineer using Mythos. And that engineer goes to jail. That's simple.

You don't say "a car ran over someone" - it was the driver. Here's similar.

I'm really disgusted by this language of lack of responsibility

p0w3n3d··on Three Six Mafia – Data about "6/6/6 dating" (2024)
That subject is quite loud even in my country. Too high requirements given a priori by women make men feel insecure.

However my wife is the same height as me, meaning she's medium tall and I am short (in the medical classifications given by our pediatrist to our daughter) and still she's okay with it.

Meanwhile we have organised a global market of "who's the highest and have a largest pecker" in the network, and this is sick. Normally in a village some people would get chosen by the looks another by their standards and character. Tinder focuses only on one thing. So this is the anomality we're feeding

The author completely ignores the cognitive debt of using AI in my understanding. there is no high level work if you don't understand the basics, so the basics must be taught not glimpsed on
