This is a well put together video but I wouldn't take as drastic a view. I believe we have something to learn from everyone, it's just knowing what will work for you and what won't while being careful of not entering that cultish mindset. Everything in moderation.
Corporate espionage is potentially more lucrative yes but the opportunities are much less. There are millions of MacBooks out there with significantly more people jacking off in front of them than discussing lucrative corporate secrets
I would say you are equally likely to catch someone jacking off through the webcam as to catch valuable information through the microphone. They are therefore equally lucrative
I’m doing a distance data science degree at a fraction of the cost and I would imagine I’m getting much more out of it than this September intake will. There’s been a revolution in remote working, will education follow?
I feel like the mistakes you are referring to were actually lies and there is a sort of a pattern emerging with a company that is not merely making innocuous mistakes
An ear cup is an ear cup, hardly military precision required in manufacturing. I got a pair of aftermarket cushions for my QC35s and I found them to be more comfortable, if there's any difference to noise cancelling I certainly haven't experienced it. Why pay 3 times more for something that does the same job, doesn't matter if I paid $1000 for them.
This removes the incentives to innovate though. If you are found to have created the latest innovation surely there’s only two outcomes: either you can’t go to market or you are compelled to allow competitors to piggy back off of your technology en masse
You have a ref for indoor soccer? And rules on what you can wear? Indoor soccer to me was always just a casual affair, besides the odd tasty tackle and fall out
It's always good to take constructive criticism but when the negative commenter contributes little of worth, both in the comment and to the wider community, I think it is safe to ignore.
I'm 25 and from the UK, I'm incredibly optimistic about the future of our country.
Having listened to the doom-mongering from select circles for the last 9 years, I now find it to be quite amusing. Since 2010 and with 2016 thrown in there for good measure, it seems that said people are going through multiple stages of despair, as each stage passes, the claims become more and more absurd. I usually predict that people will grow out of it, but in your case, there isn't much time.
The 2017 has a Touch Bar, unless it's the entry level version, in which case I don't understand why you would purchase a 2019 which is essentially the same device... but with a Touch Bar that you never liked
Works normally for me, no need to exit full screen. I would say the more frustrating thing is that once you change the volume, the Touch Bar takes a while to turn off so you are left with the distraction when watching video.
Who is proposing a propagandic censorship machine? The example, as stupid as it was, was intended to highlight bias and ask the question of how big tech can be trusted to act without ideological or personal preference when it comes to censoring speech, deciding what apps are permissible, who can earn on their platforms etc. I don’t hear anyone who is championing regulation suggesting that the solution to censorship on the likes of google is more censorship only this time enforced by the government
No rhyme or reason given, the other times Paypal have withheld funds from or barred others for less legitimate reasons, most recently substar. For me big tech actively sabotaging the careers and income of folks with whom they, often arbitrarily find problematic is a big problem, particularly given how reliant people are on the web for these purposes and the increasing lack of competition
I'm with you. The problem is, PayPal weren't the only payment processors to bail on Substar, if we want to purchase online which popular/accessible processors are not engaging in similar? Genuine question
Paypal relies heavily on mastercard and visa to process payments, if these companies refuse to play ball with a competitor (which I would say is incredibly likely given the cosy relationship these companies have) then what chance does a competitor have? Merely being usable is in Visa and master card's hands, let alone eating into any marketshare
Given the context, Patreon were hardly addressing hate speech in any well meaning or virtuous way. Your applause is not for a value based stance but for an ideological one
Thanks for sharing. I have a very basic question. What is your favoured method of learning new technologies/languages, how do you make the most of your time and make it stick? I am coming from a different background and the learning is a completely different dynamic to what I am used to. I could ask this of most here but you seem to be particularly proficient at learning loads in a short space of time.
their main business is their online store, your linked article proves as much. If the online store was to disappear tomorrow the value of Amazon as a company would decrease much more than if it were AWS. It is proportionately more profitable but that doesn't make it the main business
