oulipo··on Why do we need human mathematicians anymore?
Wondering about the world, using the simplified language of "mathematical logic"
oulipo··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026)
We're building a repairable and sustainable e-bike battery at https://infinite-battery.com, it's compatible with many controllers (Bafang, Bosch, etc)
oulipo··on Reverse engineering my e-scooter and rewriting the firmware in Rust
At https://infinite-battery.com (disclaimer: I'm a co-founder) our battery is compatible with Bosch systems
oulipo··on Open Battery Information
It's on the list, but we have been working on our newer models (cargo and mega batteries) so we haven't had time yet to add it! Hopefully we will do this soon
oulipo··on Why the AfD Wins
You seem too simple-minded to understand the issue with fascists. Perhaps try opening an history book?
oulipo··on Why the AfD Wins
Hitler was also put in power legally
oulipo··on Open Battery Information
Thanks :)
oulipo··on Open Battery Information
If you're interested, at https://infinite-battery.com we're building a repairable battery that you can connect to, it gives alerts, data, and is compatible with many e-bike controllers (Bosch, Bafang, etc)
oulipo··on Apache Iggy, a message streaming platform in Rust, graduates to an Apache TLP
Could be nice indeed, if it can handle MQTT5 and replace EMQX!
oulipo··on Navigation app for people with blindness and low vision
People shouldn't be assholes, but if they're passively recording, even for "good" / "non-creepy" reason... still the video that they took of you (that you might not have wanted) can be found in the database of Meta now, and will be used to train their next model, or to use it against you, or sell you ads, etc
oulipo··on Marx, Keynes, and AI
You can... check tragedy of the commons, and prisoners' dilemma
oulipo··on Apache Iggy, a message streaming platform in Rust, graduates to an Apache TLP
Will it integrate directly with MQTT? Or should I use a MQTT broker and pipe into Iggy?
oulipo··on Malleable software = solid bases and custom code
A "solid base" is just another name for "a library ecosystem"
oulipo··on Using floci to emulate Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
Nice! How does the Google Cloud Storage compare to https://github.com/fsouza/fake-gcs-server ?
oulipo··on Chinese robot runs 100M sprint quicker than Usain Bolt's world record
You won't be outperformed in humanity. And that's precisely the point. People will start rejecting AI and robots en masse, because they'll get disgusted by it, the same way you are disgusted when eating a "powder shake" kind of meal compared to a whole, earthy, flavorful, home-made meal
oulipo··on Hister – A private, full content search index that you control
You should integrate with Karakeep.app, it's only natural that you'd want both a search engine, and a nice "archive" and "article pretty view" features :)
oulipo··on ElevenLabs, TwelveLabs, ThirteenLabs
It's a kind of trend in the Silicon Valley to name startups with a number to make it abstract.

People argue that it make it more "memorable" than a "theme-based" name, because it's less expected.

But when everyone does it, it becomes less so

oulipo··on Where Human Sleep Went Wrong
Well probably us modern human only know the "8h sleep at night" kind of sleep, yet a lot of people would tell you whether they're satisfied or not with their sleep
oulipo··on Show HN: Laptop is the last place your secrets are still in plaintext
I do the same indeed
oulipo··on Ntfy – open-source Push to Mobile
Yes exactly, it's an easy way to build a web-based app and run it on iOS and Android, accessing the native API through a javascript bridge. There's also NativeScript in that space
oulipo··on Google is making private AI practical with homomorphic encryption
Zama.ai is also a player in this space
oulipo··on Ntfy – open-source Push to Mobile
Personally I use FCM (Firebase push notifications) with a Capacitor plugin for push notifications, it works decently
oulipo··on Ntfy – open-source Push to Mobile
For people in the iOS / Apple ecosystem, check Hyperduck which is a neat app to do this
oulipo··on Ntfy – open-source Push to Mobile
What's the advantage over, say, having a Telegram bot push you messages instead of notifications?
oulipo··on Self-hosted web push Cloudflare Worker, works on iOS
Seems nice! I use FCM (Firebase) which does this for Android and iOS, which does require some setup, but it's not too bad
oulipo··on Hello, me. It's been a while
I agree. Most of the time, silence. Sometimes, white noise to block other's people voice. And when I don't need to do something intellectual, just listening to the buzz of life around
oulipo··on AI agent hacks gym to get its user a spot in pilates class
The more interesting question is rather: who is responsible? The user who set-up Claw, the LLM provider?
oulipo··on Mars Bar from 1991 found – and it's 20g bigger than today's
That said, perhaps it's better for American's health that they shrunk the size... assuming they didn't add 20g of sugar to it to compensate
oulipo··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (August 2026)
Building a repairable e-bike battery at https://infinite-battery.com
oulipo··on SupererDuperer
