Even if Apple created a backdoor, how are they going to install it on locked phone? Are locked mobile able to update without access to internet or user passcode?
" if you have AppleCare they frequently replace it for free" - as long as you have warranty right? I had a issue with motherboard, the official Apple service center near my place quoted a replacement price equal to a new windows laptop with just 6 months additional warranty.
Does it hold good while updating to new OS on an old Mac book pro. The last 2 OS updates made my mac book very slow. I had to tinker some setting to bring it up some respectable performance. I used to do those on Ubuntu. Now Ubuntu is just install and use mostly. But i couldn't get the touch working properly on Ubuntu else it would have been default OS on mac book pro.
The last 2 versions are the worst for old systems. Before Yosemite beach ball was a rarity. Now its a daily occurrence.I have tested El Captiano on newer systems and its silky smooth. They are kind of forcing me to upgrade. But this experience has made be wary of buying Apple products.
thats lot of edges cases. Ubuntu has been main desktop OS for last 5 years. No issues till now. I even play Steam games.
But my MacBook Pro has been regressing. It used to be that evey install of Ubuntu i would need to tweak it. Now i do that on every install on Mac OSX. Ubuntu even runs faster on the laptop then El Captiano. If not for the touch pad issues Ubuntu would have been my default laptop OS.
Maybe the old website catered to developers while the new one to users. The old site didn't have a text to focus on. While the new one moved my eyes directly to "Do you think" animation. Actually made me interested to download the OS.
I never invested in direct stocks until 2008. Markets were going up just before the crash and a investing friend suggested why not buy stocks. But my demat account got delayed and when i received it markets were going down hard. I ended up investing very small amount. But i got nearly 4 times the return(I did wait few years)
If you don't enjoy some sport then it can be boring. As a cricket fan that too "Test" cricket(the one which takes 5 days) to complete i find "Soccer" or Football as its know here boring. Cricket even has regular scheduled breaks for commercials. I used to love football at one time, but too many boring draws and player behavior led me away from it.
But its not helpful is it. Its the same case for windows mobile where nobody is interested to create any apps since its user base is almost irrelevant.
But India is too huge and varied for a normal guy to fix issues. I am from south coastal area. These days i hear govt radio ads about "beti bacho" save girl child. Down here the idea of abortion because girl is not common at all( Does not mean they don't want a boy). Or having a toilet in house. Of course i don't the case in rural areas, most near by places would be considered as towns rather then rural area.
iOS users tend to be of higher income than Android users within a specific country especially in the west. - Would it not be more true in poorer countries. Like in India it cost around $700+ which attracts higher income people. For the status guys who can't afford, Apple has been selling 2 generation old mobiles for around $300. US and UK mobiles are sold at subsidized rates correct? Would then those users be considered High income users?
Vue.js seems like backbone. Last time i checked Ember looked way complicated. What i like about React is the simplicity. Its basically JavaScript with few React functions thrown in. As a view component its very good. I have used it in normal rails app as well.
1GB server comes to £73 which includes $50 service support.
We do use a dedicated server for DB. Recently moved our ap servers from dedicated to cloud.
I could have used Digital Ocean as well they have similar setting. I can now easily use the ansible scripts to setup on any other server.
I do all of them along with coding and managing project members. But i use Rackspace cloud which has most of them built in. One you have the basic configuration set up rest if easy. You can use ansible to automate it or same images.
So its a computer then. I am not sure of the Apple careful approach. I am using latest OS on my old Mac book pro. Each new release has made it slower, draning more battery.
I am in same age bracket. They barely know Instagram. It used to be facebook all the time now Whatsapp has taken over it. Why do you consider whatsapps lacking in media. You can upload photos, videos. If they allowed documents it would have been better.
