obituary_latte··on 1B nested loop iterations
The animation is confusing...is one trip to the end and back the 1B iterations? I thought maybe they were counting up and once the slowest reached the end they would all stop but that didn't seem to be it. Maybe if it did (and there was a counter on each showing how many bounces they made), it'd be a little more clear.

Interesting nonetheless.

obituary_latte··on MicroPython on Flipper Zero
Not natively. There is other firmware out there, though, that allows such functionality. Depending on where you live, it may be illegal to even try, though, hence the native firmware locking out such use (you can record or visualize but not save/replay).
obituary_latte··on macOS in QEMU in Docker
Probably as enforceable as any other EULA. Windows surely has similar language. I'd guess that somewhere buried deep in the agreements, or somewhere, it says they can audit your usage somehow. Does it ever happen? I'd be curious to know.

Agreed. Interesting that Yahoo was your choice. I may try it as well (have experimented with DDG and Bing a bit, but haven't used Yahoo since it was the only option back in the day).
obituary_latte··on Google Search officially retires cache link
Off topic (sorry), but has the quality of searches been on a steady decline over the last year or two? If I'm not just imagining things, wonder if it is because they changed the algo or if there is too much noise for the algo to work well anymore. Frustrating nonetheless...
obituary_latte··on The novel HTTP/2 'Rapid Reset' DDoS attack
IF configured away from the defaults:

By relying on the default keepalive limit, NGINX prevents this type of attack. Creating additional connections to circumvent this limit exposes bad actors via standard layer 4 monitoring and alerting tools.

However, if NGINX is configured with a keepalive that is substantially higher than the default and recommended setting, the attack may deplete system resources.

obituary_latte··on Detroit man steals 800 gallons using Bluetooth to hack gas pumps at station
In the article one of the attendants says "I hit stop on Pump 3 and nothing happens" so they are at least seeing the pump is on and running. Whatever is happening must be either locking the attendant out or is leaving the attendants machine in a bad state with the pump running switch "on" so to speak. I wonder if it's actually NFC. It'd be interesting to see what a Flipper Zero would come up with.

You don't have to "hazard a guess", one of their engineers gave you their email address in that other thread. They also invited you to their discord. Have you tried talking to someone directly at the source?

Necrophagist[0] is also a good example of this technique. They also employ almost magical instrumental ability both in studio and live which is a hard feat to accomplish--especially with blast beasts and hyper-technical solos. Too bad they have pretty much retired. Rumor has is Muhammed Suiçmez (lead singer/songwriter, main force behind the band) went to work for BMW, would not be surprised if it were as a SE :)

obituary_latte··on Apple says it'll remove iMessage and FaceTime in UK rather than break encryption
Thanks for the reply. So am I misunderstanding their data security overview page?[0]

>For additional privacy and security, 14 data categories — including Health and passwords in iCloud Keychain — are end-to-end encrypted. Apple doesn't have the encryption keys for these categories, and we can't help you recover this data if you lose access to your account. The table below includes a list of data categories that are always protected by end-to-end encryption.

The table includes Messages in iCloud with the caveat that the key is stored in iCloud backups if enabled, but the e2e key is still private, no?

Stuff like this is why I'm an Apple fanboy. I'm happy to pay a premium and be locked into their walled garden for some things if it means supporting a company that has the power to shift policy in favor of human rights (privacy in this case).

I learned about WR class stars from this post. They are apparently the brightest of stars and the James Webb Space Telescope has already captured some stunning images[0] of WR stars.

If you view the full-res[1] of the linked image, if you look carefully at the bottom-left of the purplish plume, you will see what looks like an entirely separate yellowish-green spiral galaxy. Mind blowing.
