nsarafa··on Jane Street's Figgie card game
The whole choosing games thing is strange.

Give me one button and throw me into a live game.

Or let me practice against bots before going live.

Also the notice that my username was taken wasn’t clear (was in white) so i thought the app didn’t work until i learned my username was already taken by scrolling up and seeing the notice that didn’t stand out

nsarafa··on Jane Street's Figgie card game
Why not use your own characters or companies to trade?

Would be way more fun having some mascots to trade instead of common cards

nsarafa··on My fifth year as a bootstrapped founder
Why is hiring a sales team not mentioned here?

Feels like the obvious next step and would be more impactful than focusing on increasing margins

nsarafa··on Show HN: Emery – Personal productivity workspace
Is there a mobile app in the works too? I usually plan from mobile and find doing it outside of a native app clunky
nsarafa··on Goodbye Medium, hello Ghost
John who founded Ghost is a stand up gentleman. Happy to see people supporting him and his open source community
nsarafa··on A picture of me
site is throwing a heroku error unfortunately
nsarafa··on How to earn money by hacking a “walking for money” app
I would hire this guy. Knows what he's doing and is clearly talented
nsarafa··on Rouille
Native English speakers are quite lucky all programming languages are in English. Imagine China created their own languages and OS? We couldn't keep up
nsarafa··on Show HN: I Want to Build This: A Gamified Landing Page Builder
what makes it different than another landing page builder? the differentiating things are not clear
nsarafa··on Show HN: Safe Money – privacy-first finance tracker
Really unfortunate naming with the safe money polygon hack hitting the news today
nsarafa··on Is It Pokemon or Big Data?
Great tool. Thank you for the laughs.
nsarafa··on Elevator.js – A “back to top” button that behaves like a real elevator
Made me laugh! Would be way more awesome if gates closed above the page like an old school elevator before it went back up

nsarafa··on A Guide to Pricing Plans
Curious to read this, but the images won't load
nsarafa··on Show HN: Kosmi – Hang out with friends and family online
I've been hosting a YouTube trippy video room for 30 minutes now. My only suggestion is to kill the pop over modal every time somebody wants to join. Kills your ability to interact as the modal can pop up anytime

Should just let anyone pop in without the need to accept every individual person

nsarafa··on Show HN: Kosmi – Hang out with friends and family online
Oh yeah. And the room never closes, right?
nsarafa··on Show HN: Kosmi – Hang out with friends and family online
This is great. Been looking for a way to create a "virtual water cooler" for our team as we move 40+ people remote. Does the room always exist, and people can hop in and out? What's the business model? IE how can we pay for the service/support the mission?
nsarafa··on How do we know when we’ve fallen in love? (2016)
Amazing food for thought! Thank you for the links
nsarafa··on Google is aware of you making purchases
yeah captures a surprisingly small sample size of my purchase receipts
nsarafa··on Estimating Value of Facebook by Paying Users to Stop Using It
Does the study include WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram?

I'm curious to know how to figure changes when you include Facebook owned services in addition to the primary Facebook platform.

nsarafa··on Ask HN: 4 months after posting my project on HN, it has 0 users. Has it failed?
Lovely design. I feel this could provide value for a lot of indie developers. However, the copy could use some work..

For example, the following tag line could be much more concise.. "The instant solution to worrying less about your work being copied by the clients you developed them for."

nsarafa··on We can no longer leave online security to the market
We should fine companies for data breaches.
nsarafa··on Ask HN: Cheap places to live with a good intellectual atmosphere?
Canggu, Bali, Indonesia. Tons of intelligent expats from all walks of life running around. Great temporary base as cost of living is cheap, the expat community is strong and you're never more than 10 minutes away from the beach.
nsarafa··on Bye bye BetterSlack
One of the nicest cease and desist letters I've ever seen. I think what they're asking in the name change is more than fair, and providing guidence on changing the functionality to comply with their api seems like a good approach. Kuddos to Slack legal for keeping the matter human and civil.
nsarafa··on Getting 1Password 7 ready for the Mac App Store
I lost faith in 1Password when they forced me into the subscription model despite paying full price for the product years ago
nsarafa··on Netflix FlameScope
I think it's helpful for visualizing the seconds as it's a time based focused debugger.

Maybe open a pull request for a graph based view and we can A/B test ️

nsarafa··on Pivotal Software S-1
I love that Pivotal stands behind the principle of open source. Good for them!
nsarafa··on Ask HN: What has HN given you?
Besides a wayy better facebook new feed (https://github.com/yczeng/hackernews-newsfeed). A feeling I'm not so alone in my pursuit of learning as much as humanly possible about the world of technology, startups, physics and everything in between
nsarafa··on Apple acquires Buddybuild
I think its better to rip off the bandaid. I lived through the Facebook Parse shutdown with a production app where the drama was strung out over a year, resulting in service outages, poor messaging from parse/facebook, and a lot of general anxiety about migrating etc.
