Side note for some of the other comments - there are multiple ways to apply pressure to the thoracic cavity in order to express something lodged in the throat. If the person is large and you cannot wrap your arms around them, have them stand with their back against the wall and you thrust from the front just below the diaphram.

The goal of CPR is to resuscitate an individual who is not breathing. Whether the individual sustains other injuries through the course of being resuscitated does not matter. Better to be alive and injured than dead!

I have been trying this out the past year. More like, get a contract gig for a 3-6 week period working on the startup stuff at night and then taking 4-8 weeks off to work on it full-time. It's a tough balancing act. I know personally for me the context switching with shorter time periods is difficult. There are so many times I want to complete a piece of functionality or fully fix a defect and not leave it in mid-stream to go work on something completely different.

I don't think this is the case at all. In 17 years, I have never seen the company let it get to trial.

I have zero practical advice to give you but I can relate as I am in the exact same position. Stressing out to get as much done prior to 11/30.

The one thing that I keep hearing about is the yo-yo feeling of guilt. Guilt that you aren't doing enough at work, guilt that you aren't doing enough at home. Ultimately, I am trying to get myself in the right mindset to be able to look past those feelings and realize I am doing the best that I can and that will have to be good enough.

I think some of this stems from our feeling the need to compete early on in high school to get acceptance into a "good" college. Later on in life this is merely repeated in different forms at work. E.g.,

"I want to get ahead and get that VP spot, I need to outsmart or outwork everyone else."

"Crap someone just stepped into our space and is eating our lunch, we need to move our roadmap up by 3 months."
