nickdichev··on Reddit Is Still Useful. It's Also Becoming Impossible
Those code block demos are pretty neat! Good luck with the launch
nickdichev··on The Silo · interactive 3D cutaway
The books are really enjoyable. I also gave up on the show due to the pacing but had a great time with the first book.
nickdichev··on The Nixpkgs core team has disbanded
A common pattern is to manage your own "overlay" repo on top of nixpkgs to keep the packages you care about up to date.

you should include an example of the output of your own blog post :)

nickdichev··on Ask HN: What is your (AI) dev tech stack / workflow?
One is the sword (claude code) one is the shield (codex)
nickdichev··on Nitpicking the shell history scene in 'Tron: Legacy'
The parent commentator is the former CTO of Cloudflare, I don't think he's worried about monetizing his passion project :)
nickdichev··on A Tiny E Reader
Just echoing all the other comments here, I've been loving my x4 flashed with crosspoint.
nickdichev··on HandyMKV for MakeMKV and HandBrake Automation
I've been having a lot of fun with claude to build one off cli's / tuis to solve my problems.

I had this same problem and I got claude to whip up my own version of this tool built out with makemkv, ffmpeg, imdb api lookups, LLM-selection of the "most likely to be the primary track", and plenty of other features. Really fun time to be building small bespoke tools for yourself.

nickdichev··on My Homelab Setup
It works, I’m using tailscale services with https
nickdichev··on Skills Officially Comes to Codex
I created a skill to write skills (based on the Anthropic docs). I think the value is really in making the skills work for your workflows and code base
nickdichev··on Why are my headphones buzzing whenever I run my game?
Why is that? I’ve generally only seen positive feedback on their stuff
nickdichev··on Copyparty, the FOSS file server [video]
I’f you’re using tailscale, what features does copy party give you that you can’t get with tailscale drop?
nickdichev··on Tailscale Services
I’m also curious about this since I’ve been exposing services via their experimental caddy plugin.
nickdichev··on Tailscale Services
Yes I host web services for my consumption, like miniflux rss aggregator, that don’t need to be on the public internet.

Similarly I’m going to host my small business’ staging database on a home server and expose that on my tail net.

nickdichev··on Ghostty 1.2.0
Nice, I've been running nightly to get access to the cursor shaders. I've found them really helpful, especially when screen sharing.
nickdichev··on Next.js is infuriating
I wish more people knew about and were talking about vike, really powerful tool
nickdichev··on Orion Browser
Nice, thanks for letting me know. I'll give Orion another shot!
nickdichev··on Orion Browser by Kagi
I've used it previously and echo the other sentiments here about some bugs being blockers, but overall enjoyed the experience. Ultimately though, unless they get access to the APIs to auto-fill OTP codes from messages/email, I'm unlikely to switch from Safari
nickdichev··on Ask HN: What's the best tool you've used for sprint planning in 2025?
I’m using plane.so it’s got the basic features you need (tasks, sprints, epics) and that’s it. Generous free tier too
nickdichev··on Show HN: Cloud-Ready Postgres MCP Server
The COMMENT command will finally be useful :)
nickdichev··on Noise cancellation improves turn-taking for AI Voice Agents
Daily recently announced a new turn detection model to replace Silero and I think Livekit is working on a similar model.

I’m looking forward to more UX improvements in voice pipelines now that the big players have stabilized their voice pipeline frameworks

nickdichev··on Show HN: Bayleaf – Building a low-profile wireless split keyboard
Really well done! Looks great
nickdichev··on Augment.vim: AI Chat and completion in Vim and Neovim
Avante also has @quickfix (push quick fix list into the context) and my change to add @buffers (add open buffers to the context) was merged this morning.
nickdichev··on You don't need Next.js – Why we migrated from Next to React
I’ve been playing around with Vike to replace a NextJS app and I’m having a good time. It gets out of my way and lets me build how I see fit.
nickdichev··on Show HN: Movie Iris - Visualizing Films Through Color Extraction
Nice project and thanks for all your work maintaining vix!
nickdichev··on How to keep up with AI/ML as a full stack dev?
What company do you work for? I am working in the field and curious what the product is
