nazgu1··on Does AI save time at work?
It, for sure, saved author’s time writing this article
nazgu1··on Taste Is All That's Left
I have mixed feelings... I stumbled upon, read a post-mortem that looks even more AI-generated than the article.

"That says something about my writing. It says nothing about who wrote it." - Two contradicting sentences, author's writing skills are part of the author as-a-whole

"The short sentences, the reversals, the one-word lines" and then "I will write the next one plainer.". - even more?

And... I wonder if this is like some agent wrote article, and, in the loop, added port-mortem, after visiting hacker-news comments and manipulate that this is human written. Or maybe author is just trolling us with AI-like prose...

nazgu1··on Learn how chips are made with this Rollercoaster Tycoon-inspired animation
It was AI generated, don't be to demanding ;)
nazgu1··on Learn how chips are made with this Rollercoaster Tycoon-inspired animation
Same here, I scratched my head for couple of seconds after seeing that first step is "Sand" thinking "maybe it starts with planting potatoes" :D
nazgu1··on Steam Machine launches today
We have pricey PCs, consoles and other electronics, but at least we have AI
nazgu1··on Once you hit about a 20-point IQ gap, communication starts to break down
Just another anecdote to support author point of view, without any evidence. Also, looks like “ai” generated.
nazgu1··on BambuStudio has been violating PrusaSlicer AGPL license since their fork
It looks like generated by "AI", so I recommend taka a dose of scepticism before reading.
nazgu1··on Restore full BambuNetwork support for Bambu Lab printers
I considered buying bambu lab A1, bout watching this and previous dramas I rather go with different vendor. Are there any good alternatives for newcomers? I like hacker nature and openness of Prusa, but I’m worried if it is good printer as a first one…
nazgu1··on Ask HN: Am I getting old, or is working with AI juniors becoming a nightmare?
In my opinion these guys just don't give a sh** on "stupid sizing bugs". Those who cares about how they software behaves and looks like realises after a while that most of AI claims are scam.
nazgu1··on A quick look at Mythos run on Firefox: too much hype?
Why people publish AI written articles? If I would like to read AI I can just prompt it myself, and when I read something on someone blog I expect that I will read thoughts of this particular human being...
nazgu1··on Apple ignores DMA interoperability requests and contradicts own documentation
I wonder how it is that we, as the users, allow it when iOS started allowing third-party. After that we accepted that macOS is more and more closed platform. And I'm hearing constantly something like "Yes, that's wrong, but at least platform is secure". For me security is less about how much platform is closed and more about how educated users are.

On the side note that is interesting, that when first iOS version was released Apple talked that "PWA" will be the future, and nowadays Apple do everything to suppress PWA ;)

nazgu1··on Show HN : DrawX - Excalidraw with Back End
Is there a way to selfhost this?

nazgu1··on LLMnesia – Local-first search across your AI conversations
I don’t know if it is purposeful, but sounds a bit like amnesia :)
nazgu1··on Apple Just Lost Me
You have to pay apple 150$ annually for the pleasure of notarisation, even if you make open-source apps. Yet you cannot distribute apps outside store on mobile (besides in eu, but not really, but is't topic on its own…).
nazgu1··on Apple's intentional crippling of Mobile Safari
Also WebUSB, WebMIDI. Not to mention that you can’t develop an app for you (and your family and friends) without have developer subscription :(
nazgu1··on Show HN: Skir – like Protocol Buffer but better
If I may suggest, Swift support will be more than appreciated, to consider it for a viable protocol for connecting backend with mobile applications.
nazgu1··on Ask HN: Who can invite me to lobster.rs?
Can someone invite me as well? :)

nazgu1··on Apple Withdraws iOS 18 Security Updates
Apple artificial move to encourage people to upgrade… if they could release security update for older iPhones they can release it for the rest of models…
nazgu1··on Microsoft Office renamed to “Microsoft 365 Copilot app”
#microslop ;)
nazgu1··on Building a macOS app to know when my Mac is thermal throttling
Thanks, I will check your approach. And your app as well, looks beautiful and useful.
nazgu1··on Building a macOS app to know when my Mac is thermal throttling
There is a problem/bug with thermal pressure notifications. Did you stumbled upon such issue with your app? https://github.com/macmade/Hot/issues/73
nazgu1··on It's insulting to read AI-generated blog posts
I agree, but if I would have to type one most insulting things with AI is scraping data without consent to train models, so people no longer enjoy blog posting :(
nazgu1··on Apple pulls iPhone torrent app from AltStore PAL in Europe
I would say they have direct control, as they have to bless app before even it can be published on other stores and can revoke this blessing anytime.
nazgu1··on CocoaPods trunk read-only plan
Such a big piece of history and a de facto standard for managing dependencies for Apple platforms for years.

Big "thank you" to all maintainers for your great job! And respect that you recognise moment when ecosystem changed and have courage to deprecate library instead of maintaining it forever - to leave place for migrating to new, superior solutions

nazgu1··on We should have the ability to run any code we want on hardware we own
It is interesting, that when Apple, with small steps, slowly disallowed any kind of sideloading merely nobody took notice of it... and now Google is doing the same, and whole internet protest. Who knows, maybe fact that now there is no alternative for tech-savy, and people are angry now it is good thing in longer perspective for both platforms.
nazgu1··on Is it possible to allow sideloading and keep users safe?
For me it’s a matter of settings. As a user I would have option to choose “secure” mode that disallow installing apps from unofficial sources, but if I want to I should have option to allow side loading. Everything else is just corporations need to have to much control.
nazgu1··on Japan introduces law similar to a European Union's DMA
In a light of new law Apple and Google will have to allow third party stores and payments and allow other manufactures to use hardware features of phones.
nazgu1··on I can’t understand Apple’s Critical Alert policy (2023)
You are right, apps are not reviewed by humans. But there is automatic review in the process of notarization. And you still need to ask apple for all entitlements you need (Critical alerts, CarPlay etc), as in the case mentioned in this blog post.
