nachteilig··on I used to know how to write in Japanese
Is it this way for Hiragana and Katakana for you too? I just started and have not moved on to Kanji yet, and I already struggle to write them.
nachteilig··on I created Perfect Wiki and reached $250k in annual revenue without investors
Sorry to tell you that some of us are looking to Migrate away from it. We’ve definitely noticed the speed and usability issues as we’ve grown
nachteilig··on The German problem? It's an analogue country in a digital world
Have to share the opposite example here:

- I made an appointment online for sports medicine. Doctor says I need an xray - I go across the street and provide my insurance card, all digital. Go back to the doctors office and he's got it on his computer already

- All contract with insurance (TK) is digital and per app

- Probably only applies in big cities, but in Berlin I have 1Gbps internet for 30 euro a month

nachteilig··on Monitoring energy usage with smart plugs, Prometheus and Grafana
I guess I will be able to get this cheap when we finally have smart meters in Germany in like 20 years
nachteilig··on Show HN: AI climbing coach – visualize how to climb any route based on your body
Very cool project. I will try this out when you release it
nachteilig··on FreeBSD 4 Bug may be present in Playstation 4/5
I loved FreeBSD 4. Stable and the first I really deployed wisely. Still have good memories of building world!
nachteilig··on Germany's parliament approves easing dual citizenship
That’s inflammatory and unnecessary. And you can hardly say “check the data” without reference. This kind of comment does not belong here or in any decent discussion.
nachteilig··on ‘Who Benefits?’ Inside the EU’s Fight over Scanning for Child Sex Content
I saw that and a car driving around with that on it in San Francisco and had the same thought. Who funds that and who is their real target audience? With the tech crowd you might need a bit more nuance.
nachteilig··on Google I/O and the Coming AI Battles
Maybe the publishing company can train an AI on GRR Martin's work and we'll get the final books from an AI ghostwrite, labeled or not
nachteilig··on EU sends Apple stark warning over USB-C charging on new iPhones
I would basically never assume that the EU actually understand the technical parts of these regulations. On its face it sounds pro-consumer, but USB-C is hardly a unified experience and I am almost sympathetic with Apple here from a user experience perspective.
nachteilig··on Tweetbot. April 2011 – January 2023
I really wonder if Musk has thought this through. For years it's been a casual habit to use Tweetbot. Now I doubt if I'll download official twitter or go to the website - the platform is essentially dead to me.
nachteilig··on Salesforce will lay off 10% of staff as part of restructuring
May I ask what VOIP and tracking solution you took?
nachteilig··on Bill Ackman to wind down SPAC, return $4B to investors
Could you say a few words about internal process control and how you guys approached that? Thank you!
nachteilig··on Ask HN: Best hosted alternative to Google Workspace for email?
Does iCloud+ support catch all on custom domains now? I really like this about Google but would also be glad to go elsewhere
nachteilig··on Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 are discontinued, says Google
This is really frustrating - Google make it fairly difficult to have a decent android phone I can reliably order.
nachteilig··on I'm Peter Roberts, immigration attorney who does work for YC and startups. AMA
Thanks for doing this. I have a green card and have been out of the country for a few years doing a PhD. I’ve been getting reentry permits during that time. Due to corona and having a baby I haven’t been able to return to the US to apply for a new reentry permit and it’s now expired.

How should I handle that, especially when crossing the border? Have they relaxed the rules due to corona?

nachteilig··on Michigan asphalt company paves first US public roads containing recycled plastic
This really drives me nuts. How can it possibly be a good idea to introduce plastic in to the environment, even in the name of “recycling”? And it’s not like Dow has the world’s best record with environmental topics.
nachteilig··on French fathers will now get 28 days of paternity leave
I don't really get your point here about point 2. If the father earns considerably more, then it would certainly result in less money coming into the household overall if he then takes more leave at 65% as opposed to no leave at 100%. Why would he do that?
nachteilig··on Ask HN: What are some available force multipliers that most people don't know?
Quit caffeine from time to time. Then it’s way more effective when you need it.
nachteilig··on New 13-inch MacBook Pro
Anyone have any insight into why they might not have included "Wi-Fi 6" aka 802.11ax? I was under the impression that it's current get now even if there's not a lot of support yet.

Are we still lacking good chipsets with support?

nachteilig··on T-Mobile officially completes merger with Sprint, CEO John Legere steps down
I really hope they keep the prepaid "sim app" for iPhone. Godsend every time I'm in America.
nachteilig··on Leaked Emails: Norwegian Pressures Sales Team to Lie About Coronavirus
Business as usual.
nachteilig··on What's SAP?
What would you say is the right scale for something like SAP? We are only at a few million right bald and around 250 people and are starting to think about it.
nachteilig··on Show HN: I built a website to better compare USB-C hubs found on Amazon
Would also be great to know if it supports 4K!
nachteilig··on Giant batteries and cheap solar power are shoving fossil fuels off the grid
Hey, could you please point me at some stats relating to the costs being lower, especially in Germany? Very interesting topic for me and I couldn’t find it in the study. Thanks!
nachteilig··on Ask HN: Who wants to be hired? (October 2014)

nachteilig··on Google Domains
Right now I have a reseller account with OpenSRS/Tucows, and I have to say that this service from Google interests me. OpenSRS has seemingly been stuck in the 90s with UI stuff for a while now, and recently started charing $3/year extra for private registration.

Looks like I'll give it a try as soon as I get an invite.

nachteilig··on Apple Introduces iOS 8
It wasn't made clear in the keynote and the page doesn't mention it--I hope this includes sharing contacts with "Family Sharing". That'll be huge for helping my older family members keep a coherent address book.
nachteilig··on The Right Stuff: Breaking the PageSpeed Barrier with Bootstrap
I just saw google recommending inlining small fragments of css/js in the newer pagespeed guidelines. This has definitely piqued my interest and I wondered if people were doing it, mainly because I'm never sure which side of the speed vs. proper semantics debate I want to be on.
nachteilig··on Major US carriers announce principles for unlocking devices
Does this mean that an out-of-contract Verizon iPhone that's unlocked "internationally" but doesn't work on T-Mobile, etc. domestically can now be fully unlocked to work with other domestic carriers? I know it has the proper radios, so I've always assumed it wasn't fully unlocked.
