What mjg59 has been doing is utter genius. Buy something online, discover it is full of backdoors and violates the GPL, post utterly scathing review, buyers stop buying it. We need more people to do that.

The qemu support for RISC-V is being upstreamed right now and there is also the Spike RISC-V simulator that you can use. There are various soft CPUs that can be run in FPGAs too.
