Because comparing it to a Clio just because the Clio worked, well, seems a bit off. a Clio is a car, a fully functional Tesla is a gian iPad with wheels. There's a huge difference.
Second: when you buy a car, do you ask yourself, how will I fix it in case anything goes wrong? Buying a car in a country where there's no service is a huge no-no.
Third: No doubt that a car with all these defects _must_ be changed, or fixed immediately at no cost of transportation, or offered a compensation to get it back. I think the owner should _also_ contact a lawyer and try to get a refund. I'd not accept this kind of treatment.

12 years of software development and I still love to write code! I consider myself a full stack engineer with a natural predisposition for frontend. In my last job adventures I've been working in adtech (I was also contriburtor for Prebid.JS), for Swiss and US companies. Javascript, NodeJS, Typescript and React currently are my main languages/frameworks, but I've also developed stuff with Python, Php/Laravel, and long time ago Java.
I wouldn't mind a journey in the mobile apps world, for example with React Native or going natively into iOS/Android, if you are willing to open the doors of such things to a curious developer.
- Try to drink for the taste, not to became wasted. Try to sense the flavour of what you're drinking. I don't think that 12 cans of whatever you drank was so fantastic that you enjoyed all of them. I have plenty of bottles of wine and beers at home, but I rarely drink more than a glass. Also, when you start looking for the taste, you'll discover that good bottles are way more expensive and you want to enjoy drinking them.
- I've only quit smoking, so I can tell what worked for me. I read a book ("it's easy to stop smoking if you know how to do that"), that convinced me that the cigarettes were giving me nothing. We all have excuses to smoke, but in reality they're just excuses. We don't even like that, we only have to think our first cigarette to remind how bad it was. The book goes deep into this topic and actually convinces you that it's better to not smoke, but you must NEVER smoke a cigarette ever again, so that's what I did, and I am happily non-smoking since 15 years. I reccomend you to go this path if you don't want to drink, ever, again. But it doesn't seem the case because you want to continue drinking socially.
In the end, DS720+ together with Snyology Photos (Gphotos replacement), Drive (Dropbox replacement) and two drives of 6TB in RAID, costed me around 700€.
That's why, for a european like me, an article like this one seems totally extraneous to hacker news front page
- At breakfast I ate a fruit, some cereals and yogurts or milk.
- at lunch, eat a 1000gr plate of wholemeal pasta (I'm Italian) with whatever you want, expecially vegetables: i do pasta with sauce, with broccoli, with asparagus, with zucchini...
- at dinner, i divide my plate in three parts. First part is proteins and it can be a 100-120gr of chicken / salmon / tuna / cheese / eggs. Second part is 50gr of carboidrates and can be whole grain bread / pearl / barley / rice / cuscus. Third part is vegetables: no restrictions here: salad, tomatoes, zucchini, broccoli, spinach... whatever you can find.
- And now there's the sports part. I exercise almost every day (nowadays every 3 days I do a day of stop). Usually I do 30 mins of high cardio exercises. But I also practice tennis at an amateur level, even though I partecipate to local tournaments. So when I have tennis training or tennis match I do not do other sports that day.
Other things that really helped in getting motivated and on track:
- I use an italian app for fitness called FixFit. I am happy to say that their yearly subscription was a good deal. The diet explanation was in the app. They propose a track of exercises to you. Try as many fitness apps you can and choose the one you find more appropriate.
- I've got a friend that trains everyday. He plays football, but when he doesn't play, he does cardio exercises at home. We started during covid by whatsapp calling each other and doing exercises together. Whatsapp call on mobile and training video on chromecast. This is a huge motivation even for the days you can't find any will!
After a year of this crazy workout and diet regime, I can finally see my abs.
Note: I also work in adtech, and my daily job is to maintain a library that has to load inside google's safe frame...
I personally created the same behaviour with zoho, basically I created a catchall rule and when I register to internet services I write google.com@mydomain.com, netflix.com@mydomain.com, etc.
For how it is designed, there are a dozen companies that offer this service. The citizen can choose the one they trust more (there are some small differences between them; some require to pay a small fee; others require you to physically go to an office to be recognized; others offer you an app to login through a QR code...) BUT they are all required to implement industry-standard security. At one of my past jobs, many years ago, I had to implement this login system in a public portal. It was a mess (the technical specification was on a PDF written in bureocratic language) but shortly after a new team overtook the project and created a proper website with SDKs etc. To this day, the only known attacks to SPID were Phishing attacks, that require the user to do some dumb action on their side.
