Is there something like this for Canadians? I dont think we can use this service.
mrtunes··on How do you wake up in the morning?
i wrote a note about this: http://tinyurl.com/accwjd9

it's based on Steve Pavlina's advice: http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2006/04/how-to-get-up-right...

mrtunes··on What's the best programming language for a hobbyist?
I dont know if you call it a language since it's based on Java, but Processing seems to fit the bill for this.
mrtunes··on How do you boot up yourself to be productive?
time and time again the trusty pomodoro philosophy is the most effective. just commit to ten minutes. just ten minutes. the act of starting blows away all your uncertainties.
mrtunes··on I quit Twitter for a month and it changed my thinking about mostly everything.
here's a tip for you: because twitter will delete your account if you deactivate it for more than a month, you can use a strong password generator to lock yourself out of the account to try taking a break.
mrtunes··on I quit Twitter for a month and it changed my thinking about mostly everything.
the problem is some things are very hard to moderate, so they are better off being cut entirely.

i have notes scattered around evernote, dropbox, index cards, moleskines, iOS notes. i think it's time to compile them into a spark file!
mrtunes··on Show HN: my personal news reader, now public - SkimFeed.com
great work! i will visit this often.
mrtunes··on Why you should quit Facebook too
i haven't gone back, it's been probably at least half a year, and there is no urge to return. twitter is nearly impossible for me to leave though.
mrtunes··on From Night Owl to Productive Early Bird
it's the damn weekend that screws up these good routines though (curse you leisure!). one thing that could help is to give up drinking, then you wouldn't have to sleep in as much.
mrtunes··on Waking up early, 10 tips that worked for me
yes but contrary advice says that a small snack is ok because hunger pangs disrupt your sleep.
mrtunes··on How Codecademy (YC S11) Snagged 200,000 Users in Seven Days
i stopped doing the lessons because of a lot of crashes. things like including print statements would cause Chrome to invoke my physical printer.

i am curious how far the people who signed up during this big spurt are getting through the program, and if it can be evaluated against competitors like Treehouse?

overall i am a big fan of competition in the e-learning space, because it's a topic that hasn't receive much attention in the past (Kahn Academy is likely to thank).

mrtunes··on Ask HN: How do so many projects on Kickstarter have such professional videos?
you can research the concept of "room tone" which is prevalent in film sound design. when it's not done properly, you will hear the dialogue cut in and out. you don't always need it though, it depends on the project.
mrtunes··on Testing ideas that are unconventional
thank you. i actually came up with this question after reading that book (which was fantastic).

does this process apply to everything, or is there some sort of 'phenomena' where an idea can be highly successful without any supporting evidence leading up to launch?
