I use claude sonnet for coding and it's better than GPT4 most of the time. Something I am realising is that LLMs doesn't have any moat. Today OpenAI, tomorrow someone else.

8 years and now i am just done. Scams get funding but not good ideas.

I am not a big guy like Aravind. Not from IITs, Harvards or MIT...

ChatGPT just shows what it's capable of. Models like Midjourney, Dall-e, Sora and a lot are being built that is not just a next word predictor.

Also the examples of open-source models you gave are all from big tech. As I mentioned indie hackers can't do it by themselves.

They deserve that. They worked on it for far longer than others and had the vision, now everyone is playing catch up.

Same, AI might just be the pinnacle of software technology. But I don't think this will be our last invention. Even if AGI comes and we make it possible, people will still have to work on quantum computers, robotics and a lot more.

As someone once said, software is an enabler not the solution itself.

Accepted that their is a VC hype but didn't the dotcom era have a similar hype? The internet is still a huge deal.

About the comparison with NFTs, people/customers are buying AI products without the hope of getting reach. That's a huge difference.

Codebases, I mean today copilot can read your existing files and maybe about more. Think your entire codebase, everything from the build tools to the source code.

Build toolings - understanding of RAGs, vector databases, embedding and working on custom LLMs, training and open-source models.

Hard to find people with basic AI concepts right now.
