mnouquet··on G7: Rich nations back deal to tax multinationals
> you'd see the vast mmajority of tax revenue is spent on welfare

By "welfare", I guess you meant the sponsoring of useless administrative job meant to ensure easy mechanical turk work to appease the masses.

The money actually going for care is pretty minimal.

> I already said that the pandemic would force the entire world to lean to the left in terms of politics. It's inevitable.

Do you mean totalitarian, correct ?

mnouquet··on G7: Rich nations back deal to tax multinationals
"Small business" are just the "think of the children" or "9/11" argument to justify money grab. True motive is simply to siphon more money to the ruling western elites.

Still are.

mnouquet··on Wikipedia is swimming in money–why is it begging people to donate?
> At the very least everyone should have equal access to Wikipedia

Google & co are very clearly monetizing (either directly or indirectly) their integration, WMF might as well get something out of it.

Though, this discussion might be going the "BSD vs GPL" direction...

mnouquet··on Wikipedia is swimming in money–why is it begging people to donate?
So is the notion that non-profit should pay their execs millions.
mnouquet··on Wikipedia is swimming in money–why is it begging people to donate?
> they can basically only use the interest of that money

That's even more of a problem if you do not support such scheme to extort money from the working classes.

If it doesn't work on snow covered roads, at night, in the middle of a snow storm, it's junk.

Does USB-IF include wire gauge / conductivity requirements in the standard ?

mnouquet··on USB-C is about to go from 100W to 240W, enough to power beefier laptops
Does USBIF spec out conductor gauge ? For 5A, I wouldn't go anywhere below 20 or 22 gauge, but I highly doubt it's gonna be the case.

OOTH, you'll still be stuck with Big Sur (or worse).

> What has soros’s bet got to do with money laundering?

Did you read (and understand) the original comment ? It read:

> Cycling through other currencies* would then be treated like any other form of money laundering

Soros cycled through currencies while at war with the BoE, applying OP comment, it would then have to be treated as money laundering if applied to fiat currencies.

How about porn ? ;-)

mnouquet··on Bitcoin Is as Legitimate as Ice Cream
> Are videogames a giant waste of electricity?

What is your argument for it not being such a giant waste ?

Remember, we are now living in a guilty-until-proven-innocent world.

mnouquet··on Bitcoin Is as Legitimate as Ice Cream
> Electricity for heating

It could be argued that straight resistive heating is inefficient compared to using a heat pump, so on, it might not be that legitimate

> for entertainment

You don't need to use electricity to entertain yourself. Worth, why would you entertain yourself when you can think relentlessly about the betterment of Peoplekind.

> a better solution would be to target the exchanges

Crypto don't need exchanges to survive.

> Cycling through other currencies would then be treated like any other form of money laundering

Then Wall-Street traders would be the first to go to jail. Soros made his fortune betting against the british pound.

mnouquet··on Apple tries to get Epic to admit there's porn on its store
> There’s a ton of data showing that early sexualization is very bad for female self esteem, causes eating disorders, etc

Given that at least 3/4 of the US has eating disorders, especially among women, it's an easy correlation.

> Do you perhaps see the irony in trying to defend children seeing sexual material by immediately trying to justify and okay sexual dominance based on animal behavior?

I'm just pointing the US is full of liberal theories, yet awfully prude... well, unless it's about homosexuality, where it's OK for young children to witness sexually explicit behaviors (if not total depravity and including fetishist and BDSM exposure) during pride events, but that's another debate altogether. You don't have to be 18 to know very well how babies are made.

For fuck say, you can't even say "fuck" on TV!

> There’s lots of sexual predation among animals. Doesn’t mean I want that for myself or my family. Again, only proving my point by the way you speak about it.

It's actually all the same pattern in mammals, female are more likely to give it to confident male (often expressed through the dark triad, machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy) than beta cucks - I stopped counting the number of hardcore feminist who ended up on their knees, asking, sorry begging to be used. It's almost getting boring.

> You fail the gom jabbar.

Actually, I'm getting off just thinking about it !

Before commenting back, try looking into that place where you dare not look! You'll find me there, staring out at you. [...] I remember your gom jabbar, now you'll remember mine. I can kill with a word.

mnouquet··on Apple tries to get Epic to admit there's porn on its store
I've been jerking off on porn since I'm 14, believe me, my parents didn't know (thanks to me coding apps to cover my tracks) not approved. No matter how puritan you are, when puberty hits, they'll find a way.

(FWIW, I didn't bother impressing the karat moonlighter even though I was interviewing for a senior position, including 4 years on crypto backend stuff...)

mnouquet··on A centrifugal spin on a 500-year-old air compressor design
Do you understand the concept of air flow at a specific pressure ? 15CFM at 90psi is no small feat.

Lowering working pressure does not increase CFM, pump have a fixed displacement at their most efficient RPM, it's not gonna change...
