mikeevans··on Building an Android To-Do List app using Parse
Good question, I'd be curious myself. I've used it quite a bit for Hackathons, since it's really easy to get started, but nothing yet in production.
mikeevans··on Android is better
Great choice of Hacker News app in the second picture :)

mikeevans··on Ask HN: A way to change username on HN?
Your account is less than 2 months old. Why not just sign up again with a new name?
mikeevans··on Google Launches The Chromecast To Bring Chrome To The Living Room
Seems exactly like the evolution of the Nexus Q. It interfaces the exact same way with the Youtube/Play Movies apps, minus the need for a special app to set it up.
mikeevans··on Google Launches The Chromecast To Bring Chrome To The Living Room
Looks like you can order it now (with 3 months free on Netflix): https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=chromecast
mikeevans··on Hyperloop: riding sound’s density peak to exploit the drag equation?
DC does too.
mikeevans··on Why I'm Returning Google Glass
Looks like he was an #ifihadglass winner: http://www.internetevolution.com/author.asp?section_id=1047&...
mikeevans··on List of Hacker Spaces
I haven't been yet, but there's one in DC that's not on the list: http://www.hacdc.org/
mikeevans··on Uncovering Android Master Key That Makes 99% of Devices Vulnerable
Often I see people installing leaked updates for apps like Gmail which are shared through Dropbox, etc. These would normally not install because they don't have matched signatures, unless something like this vulnerability was used.
mikeevans··on Xbox Music - Now available on the web
I found it hard to find the price on any of the pages, but it looks like it's $9.99/month or $99.99/year
mikeevans··on A summer job paid tuition back in ’81, but then we got cheap
Maybe I just don't understand the drawbacks, but why wouldn't a student then immediately declare bankruptcy after college? They likely have no assets, etc.
mikeevans··on Ask HN: Is developing apps the easiest way to the gravy train?
I can't speak for the gravy train, but I did find a problem with this:

>I don't have a mac so I can't really make anything

Why can't you make apps for Android? Or Windows Phone?

He claims that they informed him today that the data was deleted in February.

mikeevans··on Show HN: BoundIt CAPTCHA: highlight objects in photos to prove you're human
Doesn't seem to be working for me, I can't draw any boxes.

(I'm using Chrome 29 on a Chromebook.)

mikeevans··on Edward Snowden Q&A
Unfortunately he didn't really answer it.

"More detail on how direct NSA's accesses are is coming, but in general, the reality is this: if an NSA, FBI, CIA, DIA, etc analyst has access to query raw SIGINT databases, they can enter and get results for anything they want. Phone number, email, user id, cell phone handset id (IMEI), and so on - it's all the same. The restrictions against this are policy based, not technically based, and can change at any time. Additionally, audits are cursory, incomplete, and easily fooled by fake justifications. For at least GCHQ, the number of audited queries is only 5% of those performed."

mikeevans··on Ask HN: Alternatives to HN
I'd like one too. Email is in my profile. Thanks!
mikeevans··on Vine for Android
Someone already managed to upload the full music video of "Never Gonna Give You Up", but apparently Twitter asked the user to take it down:

mikeevans··on Github is Down
Might be helpful to have a link to the status page as well: https://status.github.com/messages
mikeevans··on Amazon's short URL: http://a.co
I'm not sure about any others except Google uses g.co for shortening their own URLs.

Edit: And Twitter uses t.co

mikeevans··on An Honor for the Creator of the GIF
WebP also supports animations, don't know how that compares to GIF though.
mikeevans··on Xbox, A New Generation Revealed (livesteam)
That didn't stop Apple from naming the newest iPhone the "iPhone 5", despite being the sixth.
mikeevans··on Google Checkout will be retired, transition to Google Wallet
The Q is pretty much dead at this point, the new Play Music update no longer allows you to stream to it. Google TV just got an update to 4.2.2, and I think it will be updated for the time being.
mikeevans··on Square Cash - Email money to anyone’s debit card
Interesting timing with Google launching the "send money with Gmail" at IO last week.

mikeevans··on DBX
There's also a Loch Ness monster too.
mikeevans··on Poll: Do you own a Google glass?
Not until all the IO12 Explorers get theirs. I'd think a few weeks at least.
mikeevans··on Poll: Do you own a Google glass?
Yep it has, since it's tethered to my Nexus 4 for data when not on Wifi. Plenty still works without data, you can still take photos, browse the "cards" that are on the device, etc.
