I downloaded a MS Flight Sim 2020 update yesterday and it was north of 100gb lol.

I don't think you realize how fast 1tb of data goes when you have a family of 5 all doing zoom calls and remote learning all day, then streaming video (youtube, live tv, netflix) at night.

I tried to get it running a few weeks ago on Ubuntu, but gave up. It's pretty simple on Arch or Fedora currently, but Ubuntu seems to be lacking the necessary packages. Hopefully soon.

After reading vidarh's comment below ("The biggest challenge with evaluating all of these, is that once you've listened to a comprehensible version of one of these samples, they all sound more intelligible."), I recommend trying to listen to the Lyra version first, then listen to the original next. It actually does sound very strange when you don't have the true audio parsed in your head already. I'm not sure if I would like having to do the extra work to translate this in my head on every conversation.

It's more apparent in the video example from the Google post, I won't spoil it but there's a word that starts with B that sounds very funny in the Lyra version (listen to that one first): https://ai.googleblog.com/2021/02/lyra-new-very-low-bitrate-...

The last time I tried flameshot, it didn't have any cloud upload options other than imgur. I'd like for s3 compatible uploads (or at the very least dropbox), so I ended up switching to https://screencloud.net/ - no annotation and lighter features, but I can still upload to the cloud of my choice.

I love how I just automatically accept the German cookie banner without reading it (but understanding exactly what it says). Modern internet ist scheisse.

1986 Jordan worth some money ;-)

Do you have an example link of a site running mkdocs with material theme?

Edit: I'm guessing it's this? https://squidfunk.github.io/mkdocs-material/getting-started/

I was up to #97 in line, then it pushed me back to #392... I demand a refund.

Dang, they must use Apex too (as Apex blocked these stocks). Trade went through fine for me this morning.

Yes, I reviewed the requirements in my state first before booking: https://www.walgreens.com/images/adaptive/findcare/covid19/V...

This is great. Just used it to book my appointment at a Walgreens across town. Thanks!

I first read it as "house blinds", then I saw it was "horse blinds" (aka horse blinders). lol

Assuming you meant Pixel 4a, that one does not have 5G. The "4a 5G" model does, though, but it came out later in the year.

If people don't mind a bulge in their phone, I doubt they'd mind a camera bulge sticking out the back of their laptop.

I had to Google what a forward proxy was. Apparently it's just a regular proxy server? Never heard it called that before, might be helpful to add that to the readme.

The Illuminati, of course.

Doesn't look that bad overall, especially at 8:50 in that youtube video, you can see a snowplow dropping salt on the roads as well. I would not call that an abandoned ghost road.

Same thing on Android, it was removed from the play store. Luckily I had a copy of the .apk on my old phone and could copy it over. It's my main source of consuming and interacting with HN (including writing this comment).

Can you not schedule updates on Pro? Or change the option to not automatically reboot?

That's why you get Windows 10 Pro instead of Windows 10 Home.

"Paid Plan Affordability" for Heap is listed as "noticeably better" (green), but on Heap's website, they either have a limited free tier, or a business plan "Starting at $12,000/year". Is that what's considered affordable for a startup? This whole website seems like a shill for YC companies.

Not necessarily US government. A foreign government can't force Apple to implement a backdoor in iOS - but they can buy an exploit and use it.

Thanks for the links. Looks like I also got the AUO display (FRUofAUO14.0FHDIPSAG).

Edit: looks like you can get the Innolux on eBay for around $100 (shipped direct from China). Might have to consider that.

You can upgrade it to 32gb, but it's soldered and non-upgradable unlike the regular T14.

I just received my similarly spec'd T14s AMD yesterday. I opted for the low power, high NIT screen as well. How do you check if you got a good screen?
