I looked up YouOS, what a blast from an (idealistic) past:

I always thought the delivery pizza business was set to be revolutionised by legal marijuana.

Friday special, two large pizzas and a dime bag...

melloclello··on Humans are not constraint solvers
If somebody writes an incomprehensible sentence it's not his language's fault for him doing so - and the solution is not to simplify English.
melloclello··on The Man Who Smuggles Trader Joe’s into Canada
It's worth mentioning that now that National have won the election in New Zealand, it's likely they'll sign onto the TPPA which will effectively ban parallel importing.
melloclello··on I built a custom keyboard for iOS 8
Thanks! Just doing this...
melloclello··on I built a custom keyboard for iOS 8
Gah, this thing again. I've noticed that happening on a couple of the other custom keyboards, as well - I suspect it may be an actual bug in iOS 8. I was hoping it would be fixed when the GM came out but no dice...

PS thanks for not giving me a one-star review :o)

melloclello··on I built a custom keyboard for iOS 8
Thanks! I get a kick out of exploring all the stuff in Unicode too.

Not a bad idea, I could redesign how the listing mode works so there's a checkbox next to each group name. There's whole swathes of blocks for which there is no font support anyway, I wouldn't mind being able to disable those by default.

I can't speak for anybody else's apps, iOS or Android, but Glyf sure doesn't have a keylogger included, at the very least...

melloclello··on Typographic Programming Language
What we need is a generic tree editor for directly editing your code's parse tree.

melloclello··on Too Much Power For One Man
The commenter is arguing the opposite - without concentration of power, you get chaos, which is a bad thing
melloclello··on What I mean when I say "I think VR is bad news"
regarding taking them off being an issue, I would presume eventually we'll have headsets you can flip up, like those flip up sunglasses people sometimes have.

I would say that's in order to contrast with the typical HP bar, which goes from green to red as you lose health.

melloclello··on With 'The Machine,' HP May Have Invented a New Kind of Computer
> Fink has assigned one team to develop the open-source Machine OS, which will assume the availability of a high-speed, constant memory store. Another team is working on a stripped-down version of Linux with similar aims; another team is working on an Android version, looking to a point at which the technology could trickle down to PCs and smartphones.

I was hoping for a second there that somebody at HP had read about Loper OS and Stanislav Datsovskiy's ideas[1], or even about Symbolics LISP machines (great article on the frontpage today[2]), but nope, looks like they are just gonna repeat the same insanity of the past fifty years instead of actually doing something that will progress the field of computing.

melloclello··on Share: The Icon No One Agrees On
I feel like if somebody did what Apple did for the cloud icon (i.e., came up with a canonical geometric representation[1]) to the 'Graph Diagram'[2] mentioned in the article, then you'd find that everyone would just wind up using that.

melloclello··on With 'The Machine,' HP May Have Invented a New Kind of Computer
Continuing to use the file-system metaphor (Instead of, I don't know, anything else, perhaps some kind of global namespace with built-in versioning like Urbit's) seems like lobotomising this incredible new paradigm before it is even born.

It's way over my head though and I actually have no idea if it's backing up or refuting your claim.
