I have read that one-man one-woman was the solution thousands of years ago to deal with this exact problem. Currently, the top X% of men get all the women and the bottom (100-X)% are terrorists (according to this article).
Damned is the society that churns out this behavior so frequently. For every 1 that is in the news after committing a crime, there is a hundred that feels the same but commits no crime. Yes this problem needs attention, but a better use of resources is to find out what about society is causing this. My guess is that the parent(s) are to blame.
Pi goes on forever? Prove it. All we can say is that it may or may not go on forever. It could be the case that the repeating part exceeds the amount of computation we can do at the moment, or that there is no repeating part. Neither is provable at the moment.
Why? What for? I don't understand why this even has come up. Is that situation even under a persons control? The idea that everyone has bodily autonomy suggests that its not under their control.
Myself and another employee may have the same exact title, but the other employee is doing much better and much more work due to their ability. It's not fair for me to get paid the same since I'm not doing equal work. Since the value of the work is subjective from the bosses perspective, these rules have no meaning and are easily worked around.
Do they need to obey their salary ranges? If its a range, one group may negotiate a higher spot in that range still. To get equal outcome in pay, firms will have to disallow negotiation which would keep high achievers out.
