How Much Pi Do You Need?

In addition to the Voyager calculation described in the article, there’s an additional calculation that you may find interesting: the number of digits of required to calculate the circumference of the universe to within the diameter of a hydrogen atom.

Pi goes on forever? Prove it. All we can say is that it may or may not go on forever. It could be the case that the repeating part exceeds the amount of computation we can do at the moment, or that there is no repeating part. Neither is provable at the moment.
