This is sick. But also i think that stuff like this is making us less human. Before tournaments good players take a book with then and their caddie and do this themself. A model takes all the fun and strategy out of it imo. Like if i suck at 7-9 irons but am good with my 4-6 irons this type of work doesnt take that into account. Also likee the optimal way to play a course isnt very fun. We play at a course where on the fourth hole we always play to the fairway to the left cause of all the trees. If a player were to use this they wouldnt have been able to come up with such a fun way to play the game

Here in michigan the problem is that you need an actual teaching degree to become a teacher. I had a business degree so i had to go back for a masters in teaching to become a teacher. Thats was an extra 13 prerequisites and 13 masters classes. I became a teacher when all was said and done at 27 after being in college since i was 18. Programs like teach for america can allow you to become a teacher in a shorter time frame like typically a year but i dont know about their quality. States need to scrap teacher license requirements so we dont have situations like mine where teachers have to essentially become a doctor just to enter the profession. My wife mary became a doctor in 8 years of schooling compared to mine at 9 to become a teacher.

the math behind ai models to me makes it seem like a magic trick so I agree. I mean like even the circular dealmaking proves there isnt any math behind ai. if it was really more than a magic trick then the amount of energy put into it would have amounted to more incredible things. ai just isnt scaling.

Teacher here. 30% of third graders here in michigan are illiterate. Not just not being able to read at grade level. Like illiterate period. How we do it generally across states is k to 2 is worksheet based instruction and 3-5 is entirely reading based. We started heavily drifting to computers after covid so these students can sometimes spend 3-4 hours everyday on iready etc. Any reading and work after third grade is usually done on computers in short passages. Thats the reason why students struggle with reading. Any other reason is bubbemisa or speculation.

I give my 3rd graders an individual topic to write about based on what they like. Every 250 words is a new chapter. I check revision history in google docs to ensure they didn't use ai by copying and pasting from a prompt. We cant tell what is ai written anymore like we used to and ai detection tools are scams. We can still tell copy and paste though and if its pasted its always going to be from ai.

I feel more hopeful about politics than ever before. Theres a reason ice is targeting places like minnessota and not here in detroit. They think of those places as vulnerable liberal snowflake pushovers they can easily target. I feel at peace here in detroit because i know the government would not get away with the same things. Nothing bad will happen here in detroit so i dont think the anne frank z’ll quote is applicable to everyones situatiom equally in mexicantown or dearborn or shelby township or sterling heights. At some point something will have to give, i dont know what it is but the government wont be able to get away with this much longer.
