> Traces of faeces have been found on every single McDonald’s touchscreen swabbed in an investigation by metro.co.uk. Samples were taken from the new machines that have been rolled out at restaurants across the country – every one of them had coliforms.
Did they swab the food bags and food that came out as well? Poo particles are probably everywhere.
This is what’s so exciting about the Play date (https://play.date/) - I have the hope it brings back that retro vibe, with a different input mechanic for a twist.
Atlassian (Sydney) is always hiring for Java and/or JavaScript. Great company, good compensation, plenty of room for growth. If you’re interested, or want to know more, hit me up - marcins at gmail
That's probably something that belongs in `componentDidUpdate`, you'll have access to `prevProps` there to compare whether you need to trigger a new fetch. I don't believe that `getDerivedStateFromProps` should have any side-effects.
I don't think you need it - since you're deriving state from props you can just derive from the new props and compare to the old state. At least I believe that's the reasoning.
Wish that an accessible real-time port was required here in Australia. Best I can do is download the 30minute interval data from my electricity retailer after the meter sends them overnight (or use other hacks like reading the blinks)
This gets challenging when you have solar export and a bidirectional meter. The light blinks for every _absolute_ kWh. That is, you don’t know if that was imported or exported electricity, so you need additional information. One approach I’ve seen is to use current clamps just to work out the difference between what’s coming out of the solar inverter, and what’s going into the house. If a > b then the blinks are export, and vice versa.
That's not really a great reason - there were lots of alarm clocks and docks with the 30-pin connector (and still are if you go to a Hotel!). That said, I'm not sure why Apple went with Lightning for their mobile devices instead of USB-C - maybe timing?
Yes, all product names are now consistently cased as part of this rebrand. Jira, Statuspage, Fisheye, Hipchat and Sourcetree (the latter 3 all being CamelCased before)
Depends on where you are - I believe that's the case in the US, but for example in Australia when RSUs fully vest the value at vesting is included as income on your tax return at the end of that financial year, so you don't actually pay the tax until after you file and are assessed.
Bitbucket Server developer here. I'm not sure if you're on Bitbucket Server or Cloud, but either way >5 minute merges doesn't sound right. Have you tried creating a support ticket?
I am assuming you're on OS X? You can right-click on the input field, and under "Spelling & Grammar" you can turn off auto-correct. This is an OS feature, not something HipChat specific.
You can however message multiple hosts, and if they can accommodate you then they can "invite you to book" which is a 24h window for an effectively instant booking.
I assume they're just referring to how React works under the hood - you just change the data and that cascades down through the components rewriting (ie. changing) only the parts of the virtual DOM that changing, which then get applied to the real DOM.
How does it happen that after being in the wild for two years the bug was independently found by two different security researchers at roughly the same time? I'm not trying to suggest a conspiracy or anything, just genuinely curious how that works!
