I'm wondering if something like this would still be possible on macOS 12 Monterey and using Nextspace as a shell?
I thought this sounded familiar. Combined with the acquisition of Fitbit by Google, for IoT devices you should therefore not only consider the current owner and its policies, but also future ownership?
This will make it even harder for me to buy anything from an IoT startup.
I recently picked up my retro computing hobby again after selling off my collection in 2015 - when it was still all WaMcOm and the original browsers. I was happy to find TenFourFox, Leopard Webkit are able to at least support the loading of modern webpages. But it becomes very clear how much the web has changed and evolved, and even machines that I used to consider be super-fast now crawl and grind when confronted with a modern webpage.
I hope pages like Oldweb and the recently posted 68Knews will keep the old machines somewhat fun to use - other than retro gaming and general exploration.
There are several tiers of factories below that, with worse worker accommodations, Longer working hours, worse working conditions. Some of the smaller, poorer factories will provide little in terms of personal protective equipment, ergonomics, and make stuff for the local, African and South Asian markets where there’s little pressure on companies to have a “clean” supply chain. These workers would go there.
The results were that the people rejected the proposal by a narrow margin, with older people voting in favor or the proposal, and younger demographics voting against. (Similarly, lower educated people were in favor, higher educated people against.)
So Privacy is not an 'old people issue' over here.
I feel that if these things are fining apparently widespread behavior at such a scale the laws should change.
Last week a judge ruled that the Student Loan administration can use mandatory personal RFID equipped train tickets to detect scholarship fraud.
A mechanism no-one but the strongest privacy advocates had imagined would be used in this way.
(Petrodollar principle is explained well by Adam Curtis' documentary "Bitter Lake")
I'm not sure, though. They're surfing a wave of Windows/Office and XBOX cash and still very relevant for business with a huge ecosystem of developers, schools and universities educating future Microsoft users and sysadmins.
