madcow2011··on One ant for $220: The new frontier of wildlife trafficking
That is an awesome web site. I've always been tempted to look into buying one of those giant rhino beetles.
madcow2011··on Hosting a website on a disposable vape
I've actually been trying to look into something similar? I have a pile of old vapes from friends/family I want to re-purpose, but don't really know where to start.
madcow2011··on Hackers stole billions in crypto to keep North Korea’s regime afloat
and these dirty deeds weren't even done dirt cheap!
madcow2011··on My daughter (7 years old) used HTML to make a website
Aww, <3 I love this. Keep up the great work, naya!!
madcow2011··on Congress accidentally legalized THC six years ago
Wait, do you live in my city? Holy cow, I thought it was just us noticing this bizarre trend of carwashes popping up on every street corner...
madcow2011··on Ask HN: Is Hacker News under attack from spam bots?
I laughed pretty hard when I noticed the same issues and clicked the 'discuss' link and found that your post had been inundated with the comments you are referring to XD
madcow2011··on FTC judge decides Intuit’s ‘free’ TurboTax ads misled consumers
I've used FreeTaxUSA for the past two years as well, and have been very happy with it. I'll put all my info into turboTax, and let it calculate my refund, then put the same data into FreeTax and verify it's the same. It's saved me a LOT of money.
madcow2011··on Police raid of a Kansas newsroom raises alarms about violations of press freedom
That's exactly what I was thinking. Either the judge who issued the order or something like that.
madcow2011··on The curse of the corporate headshot
aaaand now I have this image of our C-suite doing a Pewdiepie pose stuck in my head. Thanks lol
madcow2011··on Ask HN: Why don't I see gold at the end of the remote working rainbow?
do we get snacks and naps? I'm in.
madcow2011··on Show HN: Pipes puzzle (a.k.a. Net) on a hexagonal grid
I like these! They're tough, but fair. Great job!
madcow2011··on Show HN: What dogs can eat? (Web App)
I got a chuckle when I tried to enter 'cat food' and all it would let me enter is 'cat', then it informed me that I should not feed my cat to my dog. A+ advice.
madcow2011··on Guess the daily Wordle in one try using the tweet distribution
This is genius. I love it.
madcow2011··on Mario Paint Masterpiece
It's been a while since I've messed with it, but the last time I played this on ZNES I seem to recall it working fine.
madcow2011··on Mario Paint Masterpiece
My favorite part of Mario Paint was always the music generator. I'd sit and play with it for hours... To this day I still enjoy listening to MPC (Mario Paint Composer) tunes on YouTube.
madcow2011··on FAA releases TRUST: Free online training required to fly drones recreationally
I didn't know about the shark fishing one. That's neat. Does that include tourists that hire a charter, or is it for the charter captains themselves?
madcow2011··on Toonify Yourself
Good grief! I know I'm not Prince Charming but I was hoping for slightly less Shrek in mine. I think I'll be going back on that diet...
madcow2011··on Robot wraps fiber optic cables around existing power lines
This is interesting, I've never heard of this. How much stretching/sagging are we talking about? (I.e. a couple of inches difference, or is it a large amount)
madcow2011··on Vermont’s DMV has been selling personal data to private companies since 2004
Some of this is necessary, I think. When you get an auto insurance quote, companies like ChoicePoint (LexisNexis) are what provide driver history (accidents, violations, insurance fraud info, etc).

So it's not like they're Google/FB/Amazon using this data for ad purposes.

Obviously, not all of the money comes from carriers like this, but I wanted to point out that some of it is legit.

madcow2011··on Teen Vogue published and then deleted an uncritical story about Facebook
"Literally IDK" snicker I got a kick out of that response.
madcow2011··on Popular Ad Blockers AdBlock and UBlocker Deemed 'Fake'
The web site is crap and loaded with ads, but the article itself raises some interesting questions. I wonder if any more reputable sources have verified/disproved this?
madcow2011··on “The books will stop working.”
THANK YOU! I lost the name of the web site and was having trouble Google-ing the right phrase to find it again. Much appreciated.
madcow2011··on Many people are getting rare cancers in a small Georgia town
Waycross, GA
madcow2011··on Big Cities No Longer Deliver for Low-Skill Workers
I didn't know about these courses, and have been contemplating getting some certifications for a while. This looks like it might really help. Thanks for posting this!
madcow2011··on Mew and Me: iPad Games to Keep Your Cat from Feeling Lonely

madcow2011··on Uber Self-Driving Car That Struck Pedestrian Wasn’t Set to Stop in an Emergency
Incognito mode used to work, but it seems they patched that. And web.archive is blocked for me at work, unfortunately.
madcow2011··on Why Uber Can Find You but 911 Can’t
To bypass the paywall, try going to Google and typing in the name of the article ("Why Uber Can Find You but 911 Can’t"). That worked for me.
