ping me at Lakota @ gmail.com
PS. "DM" me if you're interested in further talk. lakota gmail
Here are things I tried to do:
1. Having a sounding "board" person.
2. Taking only 5sec to help you decide.
3. Post-it the thought/idea/notion all over the house to make focus.
4. Talking it through to yourself. Using yourself in a 2/3rd person.
Maybe yet another AI focused idea to solely help you stay focused and on task.I need all of this...
Not well versed in all platforms but whenever I talk to others to exchange photos of events and such. It's always a tremendous pain point to figure out how/where to.
Just my observations as I am trying to figure out the most frictionless way to exchange pics.
Also reminder that each versions of iOS and Android has their own limits based on app level that tops out at their versions.
Just a big huge mess.
PS. imho. Policies don't mean jack when there is absolutely no way for you to know if they have or haven't scraped. Gmail eng already got caught using his level of access to harass ppl. And Ring /Tesla were both caught sharing what should have been private and anon videos. I understand from dev point one must be able to decrypt to debug but nevertheless, you use their service, it's theirs to do whatever they want.
Not that I'm peddling anything illegal but my family photos I've already had random files including pictures and videos that wasn't mine in my Google drive and it also wasn't wrongly shared.
CV+ML with AI now don't need human intervention to id the materials.
So long term, I'm thinking of private cloud and a cross platform app where its sole purpose in life is to xfer all files in a particular folder on the device to the private cloud.
Most are not tech savvy enough to setup that backup. Not to mention I'll need access to aquire.
Long list of why's.....
Eagerly awaiting answers from you all but for now...
1. rsync from where I can.
2. manually copy whenever I get the device in hand.
3. backup cronjobs from omv server
4. my main desktop use Timeshift
5. LocalSend
Also trying to use Immich once I can get a stabilized build. Had to rescrape entire pic/vid family lib of 3TB multiple times. Also cronjobs to attached USB and NAS to have backups of backups of backups.
No one seems to realize every household is a micro enterprise!
Then make matter worse, with all the tightening of security. It's harder and harder to remote into and recv/xfer files l.
I highly recommend: Hidden Brain
I'm in the same place. After TED talks and much self guiding/discovery materials. I realize it really comes down to friends or at least someone you can confide in without judgement. Although therapist can help, but that just a guide. You still need to find friendships. I can't lose faith in humanity but omg...it's so *ukin hard. Worse for me as fulltime dad of a toddler where my times are mostly preoccupied so ideally for me. Need someone else who's going through the same.
Ex prgm mgr, coder from FAANGM now triaging my zillion side prj ideas for gold, but same..everyday is a struggle. Can't focus, lack motivation and direction.
ping me if you're interested in a chat over coffee. My boss is with his 4yr peers at preschool so free-ish.
I think my info popups on my username.
But in a very humble fashion thus hard to find.
Also virtually everyone who willingly took their time to post answers or results for everyone to see and benefit from. I'm in awe daily whenever I googl something and usually find my answers from good Samaritans who took that extra time and effort. Whether it's a personal opinion on a restaurant or product to actual answers like in forums and of course stackoverflow.
Little sad. However an impetus for mother of all inventions: social network for plutonic relations? ;)
Loneliness is a crisis and becoming an epidemic. There needs to be a way men in particular needs to find a way to connect without making them feel...may I say... despairing or desperate? :(
Also found having a good convo on an interesting topic. Find it very satisfying however, that may be due to my loneliness :)
And what others have said: B complex, B12 in particular.
Lastly, I found one of my best workout days are the days where I did NOT want to work out. Those days I flip a coin and do whatever it says. So I find it's a lot of mind over matter.
Like when your football wins, you wanna go out and run a marathon!
[EDITED] Didn't want to write deep philosophical statement but having gone through group therapy for burnout. Found for me that it equates to depression. As many have said, self care _is_ your #1 priority. Since I love creating, especially apps/tools I personally need. I need to do it to get myself out of a rut and also do something in love while trying to support my family.
Mainly been listing all of my abilities, resources and ideas then match up with barrier to entry by cost/competition etc..
Coming very close to a few ideas to implement. One wish I have is to be with someone motivated like myself to inspire each other. I don't seem to have the itchin to start and need a kick in the pants. Also miss the camaraderie of being in the workplace....
I think to me it's obvious. Now that they are generating good reve ue from targeting ads based on email content. They want the high visitation rate by making you interact with your email more.
Just IMHO.
it's who you know, not what you know.
EQ is a stronger kung fu than IQ by far. The ability to networking has not only longer lasting effect but greater than any knowledge you can have. I.E. Elon, Zuck, Jobs, Gates etc....
1.take notes. Personal CRM of contact, specifics like kids, key dates and topic
2.say minimum but say something interesting about yourself.
3. Make mtg w C level to get a feel of where they want to go. Then make mtgs w bottom level to hear where they think they are going without disclosuring your findings.
4. Track personality types.
5. Listen mostly talk minimally.
Gosh, so many things I could dump on this topic as I've burned more bridges then created bc I lacked to do the above.
Ultimately, it's the old adage of it's who you know and not what or how much you know.
Oh one last thing: practice alot of humility.
