It's all subjective. Reading your linked blog made it perfectly clear for me you built this using tesseract.js. No idea what the other guys are complaining about.

I'm convinced there is some merit to this. So what would be the "Tesla" place for engineers to work at nowadays? Maybe Volocopter, Eviation, Boom Supersonic and the likes - there is plenty.

Also, I'm convinced elevators and escalators are now more often broken than previously and always thought - what if that can be explained with loss of knowledge? Given how old this stuff is. There likely only ever is "innovation" in how to produce it for less cost and it results in mediocre technical "compromises".

> All of Apple's M chips so far have been primarily designed for mobile use

There, you said it again. This is wrong - you hear Apple M chip and you think "laptop" primarily, but that is no longer true. Just as it would be to say ARM is primarily for smartphones. Now I don't want to talk about sales numbers, but the M chips in the Apple Studio and Mac Pro (and those used by other manufacturers in servers) are a different category than "laptop". For a quick shallow impression see: https://nanoreview.net/en/cpu-compare/intel-core-i9-14900k-v...

(nevermind it's the i9-14900K)

Again, the I9 is more powerful, but that doesn't make all of ARM or M a "laptop".

You can downvote me all you want, it does not matter. You can call all ARM chips "laptop" grade all you want. But this misrepresents how this arch is used in servers and desktop "PCs" right now. And thats the only point I want to make. ARM arch chips are not laptop only. Can they match the power of this new I9? No. But that wasn't my point.

It does not matter if you think that the website does a bad job of explaining that fact.

Rest assured, that your sentiment, that no employee should be using autin (or any locally installed 3rd party software, really) before a proper audit of the code has been done is understood just by your first comment. A valid opinion anyone can hold.

kuschkufan··on Netflix: Piracy is difficult to compete against and growing rapidly
Music streaming is not currently suffering the same fragmentation that video streaming displays. I.e. the same music albums are available on all those music streaming services you mentioned. (I know there are a few exceptions but for the vast majority this is true).

Music streaming services have very few exclusive content. Which is why they tried to sign exclusive deals with e.g. podcasters.

Should they go in the same direction as video streaming, we will see an increase in music pirating again as well.

Hasn't stopped Spotify and co from increasing prices anyway of course.

kuschkufan··on jj init – getting serious about replacing Git with Jujutsu
> Jujutsu is the topic of this comment section and in Jujutsu all changes are always part of a commit

Thank you for explaining again why I prefer git.

kuschkufan··on jj init – getting serious about replacing Git with Jujutsu
I never said anything about splitting a commit. My entire point was about creating commits from current changes, either with or without the index. And how I prefer the git way that is two steps because of the index, so it's more helpful to commit what is related instead of everything at once. But it's okay, sometimes we misunderstand.
kuschkufan··on jj init – getting serious about replacing Git with Jujutsu
You guys are just discussing different points. OP comment was about being something like index functionality being available at all in a vcs (or git frontend). Yours is about how working with that index functionality is a one step operation while with git it is two (add + commit).

I happen two think that two steps are better. If every new and changed file is automatically included in the next commit this will just lead to more devs not caring about properly splitting up changes into logical and related commits. Just commit everything in a single commit, push, home time! For those people the two step process seems a needless waste. For me it's to encourage devs to only add related changes into a single commit.

So funny to me that people assume, oh it's written in Rust, so it must be a rewrite of something else just so they can use Rust.

They never imagine that people choose Rust for something they want to implement anyway and not just to replicate something existing, that they do not want to use since it's not implemented in Rust????
