krzyzanowskim··on TextKit 2 – The Promised Land
> I personally would not attempt to build an alternative to UITextView on TextKit (1 or 2)

sure. If only UITextView/NSTextView did not have bugs impossible to workaround otherwise. TextKit 2 support in UITextView/NSTextView was really bad. improved over time. and still remain buggy. The UITextView focus limits the use of TextKit 2 architecture significantly.

krzyzanowskim··on Gumroad CEO is no longer hiring junior/mid-level software engineers due to AI
that's great. Amazing. Does it mean Gumroad will drop its high prices now when it no longer needs to pay to humans? Because that's what actually be interesting news.

krzyzanowskim··on What Is Server-Driven UI?
I've meant platform UI changes, like when iOS changes how button looks from version to version etc.
krzyzanowskim··on What Is Server-Driven UI?
web app won't integrate like native components can. here, it uses idioms of iOS and Android UI including navigation etc. It's just doesn't have this feeling of foreign component. In addition you get no-cost UI update for never/older system versions (since it uses platform components). Not trying to mimick platform.

krzyzanowskim··on Apple Photos app don't accept photo downloaded from iPhone because it's not JPEG
and I find it hilarious after 3 years since iOS 11 where it became default image format for photos.
krzyzanowskim··on Dependency Heck – Swift
SPM is not the greatest “package manager” out there, but set a standard just because it’s part of Swift. For me it’s a vendor political decision that forces us to use it eventually.
krzyzanowskim··on Today’s correction isn’t much like the dot-com bubble
> old companies (banks) that sell $2 for $2.15 (a loan).

banks sell $0.15 for $2.15, nobody can beat this business model. Bank only need $0.15 to give you a $2 loan and ask for $2.15 in return.

Thanks to those short-term campaigns, I could subsidize my WWDC trip to San Jose this year. Thank you very much to anyone who bought the t-shirt. I've met some of you during the WWDC, that was an excellent experience!

krzyzanowskim··on Photos – you do it wrong Apple. In 2015
Building html page by hand require some knowledge that is not available to regular users (as you pointed out). I found Google Drive/Dropbox/... sharing with link pretty decent, very easy to use and easy enough to manage.
krzyzanowskim··on Making PGP Key Management Invisible So Johnny Can Encrypt
Nice writeup. I fully agree on that approach.

Some time ago I implemented "invisible" keys for http://privacyapp.io on iOS, with support for HKP and keybase.io API. It works quite well. The only problem is that keyservers from SKS pool have different versions of software and response can be randomly broken for the very same request.

krzyzanowskim··on Apple keeps rejecting my binary
Hi, somebody put this link here. Thank you for you comments about main-thread issue, surely it may be the reason behind crash (I would expect warning or exception but hey, I've should read documentation more carefully).

krzyzanowskim··on Show HN: Privacy – PGP Messenger
- importing keys is available with upcoming update.

- keys are fetched from one of the sks pool servers (servers that replicate keys)

- keybase is integrated a bit. you can use username from keybase.io
