Collaborate with other people on your projects. You could do some of the initial work, and then hand it off to others to do the marketing and follow-up. You don’t have to do everything yourself.
kirsebaer··on My takeaways from 12 months of therapy
Exposure therapy for PTSD, phobias, and other anxiety disorders has lots of evidence from clinical trials. It is based on animal studies of “fear extinction”. You often see good results after 10-12 hours of focused therapy sessions.

ChatGPT often makes up facts. It outputs stuff that looks like it could have been written by a human, not stuff that is correct.

Don’t use ChatGPT for medical research.

kirsebaer··on Ask HN: How do you overcome feeling completely lost in life?
Check out “childhood emotional neglect” and “complex posttraumatic stress disorder (CPTSD)”. There are lots of books, websites, and forums about this.

Your chronic feeling of emptiness and lack of joy indicate that you have turned off your emotions, maybe in early childhood, maybe to block out a traumatic experience or because your family ignored you and so emotions felt useless.

Look for a therapist who specializes in these issues. You will probably need to try out multiple therapists before you find one for you.

Sounds like you have a lot going for you. It is really common with these issues to have low self-esteem, to feel lots of shame, to feel hopelessly broken, etc, but other people probably do not see you like that.

kirsebaer··on Microdosing with psilocybin mushrooms: a double-blind placebo-controlled study
Participants were required to bring their own psilocybin mushrooms. Probably because it can be expensive and difficult for researchers to get obtain and administer pharma-grade psilocybin.

The dose was 0.5g of dried Cubensis mushrooms. Usually a microdose is 0.1-0.2g.

All the participants were healthy volunteers. There may be more noticable effects in people with depression or anxiety disorders, etc. Consider that antidepressants often have no effect in healthy volunteers.

As a child in the US in the 1980s we were told over and over by the TV and school to never talk to strangers, to run away from people offering us candy or asking us to help them find their lost puppy. But there was essentially no education about how to avoid abuse by teachers, sports coaches, and family.
