That being said, I do wonder if LinkedIn is the right venue. The premise is very similar to something like "hot-or-not," and I'm just not sure that the "professional" crowd on LinkedIn is going to take to it.
Maybe you can consume another social network's API with a younger audience though.
Here are a couple of things I can think of:
* Make some friends on Twitter; give out free copies using App Store promo codes
* Submit your game to the various iPhone game review sites
However, the technology described is something that is completely technically possible -- ARP spoofing on an open wireless network and performing MITM content modification.

Given what you've said, should I bother reading it if picking at random is going to work out better in the end? Have you read it and can make a recommendation as to its usefulness? In the first few chapters they identified the issue of massive amounts of information, but the book still charges on.
If you do think it's still worthwhile to continue reading it, do you have any suggestions for some introductory books that can help me understand some of the financial slang they use? :)
I feel like I've seen a few out there already, but none of them jump to mind enough for me to refer you to.

How many times do we open up our typically single person-to-person IM clients to figure out where to eat lunch?
How distracting is your IM client compared to IRC?
I suspect some of the younger companies with money to burn use Campfire to fill these kinds of needs.
"The code of my demos will be released. Soon, but not right now."
Got some google maps integration going for one of my web app ideas this morning while on the train. Hoping to knock out the remaining stuff on the way home.
What am I not working on? Anything related to my day job, even though I'm at the office while I type this.
I think skeptical restaurant owners would choose that no-risk option, and you'd probably make more money. Restaurant owners who think it'll be successful in making sales would probably be willing to pay a decent sum per month.
I agree with the other commenter that you are probably not charging enough. I think this kind of service has high value if it can demonstrably increase sales.
