jpatel3··on The Token at the Seam – Learning in Robotics
I use gemini to feed in some of the writing to generate visual. also, personally I like to do it while writing on paper to do it, and sometime I capture that image and feed to gemini to generate xkcd style visual.

any feedback?

2fa reduces the come back count, so they are liberal with some of the ways people can get in the app.
jpatel3··on The Mass Matrix and the Mug, Why a Robot Slows Down When It Picks Something Up
agree. it is going to be another AI chatbot type magical experience when we will see it in few years, but extreme engineering and years of rigor will be paid off as we see advancements. the amount of decision it will need to make to function in dynamic world and work error free (or near error free) is not going to be easy task. Current state is still pretty much in very controlled environment.
jpatel3··on Forty Watts to Think With
this was just comparison. As those things gets produced at scale, and its mimic after the human - thats why its called humanoid. I am still trying to find question in your comment.

We are in kind of similar category but broader data literacy space and making data analysis more accessible and interactive. give it a try at https://tuvalabs.com

you can plot functions on top of your visualizations, or take samples etc.

jpatel3··on Show HN: I made a modern web UI for Wikipedia
It looks really neat. would love to learn more about how you approached it without missing or compromising any functionality.
jpatel3··on Squarespace S1
easy accessibility sort of feature may be.
jpatel3··on Superhuman embeds tracking pixels in user emails
I think the problem is person on receiving end doesn't know that. also, at marketing level it happens with all mailchimp and other campaigns, but this is so explicit at the individual level.
jpatel3··on Hans Rosling has died
Sad day :(

His story is inspirational.

jpatel3··on Wal-Mart in Talks to Buy Web Retailer Jet.com for $3B
Advertisement, and marketing dollar. I have tried to look for items on it, but expectations are so high after using Amazon.
jpatel3··on The Fight for the “Right to Repair”
I think the smaller percentage is very time specific thing. What today looks like small percentage, over the period of time won't be the same. Need to think beyond the current scenario. As push for coding, awareness around tech growing, the future force won't be same.

pocket. It just works and saves lots of time from distraction without loosing what I want to read.

Thanks. I'll cleanup some data later and see if I can generate some nice visualization which can lead to some conclusions :)
jpatel3··on Open Source Project – View 689 Salaries Posted on Hacker News, Share Yours
Lot of messy data, but indeed powerful dataset.

jpatel3··on Jawbone Lays Off 60, 15% of Staff Globally, Closes NY Office
so distorted headline..doesn't say how many employees they have, 15% staff Globally is part of 60?
jpatel3··on SeatGeek Marketplace
I think this is really good use case. Is it limited to the sports ticket only? How its going to figure out if the tickets are non transferrable? Does it work with the venue/vendor to confirm the transaction?
jpatel3··on The Economist's US college rankings
Here is another way to see the expectation of the students by state - https://tuvalabs.com/benf/datasets/s/fdcbab1d15e64518a3cc3a5...
jpatel3··on The Economist's US college rankings
any time data is shown in the article, it should be best to provide access to raw data as anyone can analyze with their own angle. When I see static graphs and analysis I smell distorted facts. (of course in this case you can do search, but giving access to raw data would be more useful.)
jpatel3··on The Economist's US college rankings
Would love to get hold of csv or api to see state wide university data.
jpatel3··on Didn’t Homejoy Shut Down?
User of private data is really concerning. How easy someone can take liberty of using the private data for a ride :( When I read the post about someone go crazy to protect their data and communication, I feel they need to have little faith in fellow people. But this kind of instance move my confidence and make me think that we are racing against time and we will see more and more kind of this situations.
jpatel3··on The Nightmare of Replacing a Battery on a Mac Laptop
My knowledge may be limited, but some of the things they do is beyond me.

- they came up with 3 different chargers so far, and may come with more types opposite to industry standard.

- phones goes from 16gb to 64gb, no 32gb

- Their mac charger top pin gets broke in year, and it cost $80+. And they have different chargers for macs in last 3 years (Air and pro). It would be fine in PC world to get away with this kind of things as there are different manufacturers. Here apple is the only one who designs and creates it.

jpatel3··on The Nightmare of Replacing a Battery on a Mac Laptop
Agree. I see when details when I click on battery life. Apps using significant energy - Chrome.
jpatel3··on The Nightmare of Replacing a Battery on a Mac Laptop
I think its very location dependent as well. In some countries you get support quick vs others. I wonder it may be the laws of the country force companies to do that.
