These were a huge part of the American social fabric in the past. Most of the organizations are still active, although smaller than before. There's Freemasons, The Elks, Rotary International, American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus, Loyal order of Moose, Shriners, Lions Club, Kiwanis ...
The obvious answer is to invest in ETFs that hold bitcoin, in a traditional brokerage account. Ironic that it comes to that (given that bitcoin was supposed to take down big finance). But it is the most straightforward and safe way for someone to own some amount of bitcoin.
If women wanted bigger pockets, you could make a lot of money selling them pants with bigger pockets. But everyone who tries that fails. Women would theoretically like bigger pockets, but they care more about the fitting and look of the pants. And pants with bigger pockets don't look as good.
Above poster is just trying to clarify that "casualties" means "dead or injured". Generally many more are injured than killed in war, so the number of causualties will be higher than the number of deaths.
Liberal arts mindset has been that Marcus Aurelius is a fascist. Stoicism is right-coded and tech-coded and has been for the last decade. I think you're right in terms of what liberal arts SHOULD be, but it's been diverted badly from that path.
Every consumer has very useful AI at their fingertips right now. It's eating the software engineering world rapidly. This is nothing like nanotech in the 80s.
Whatsapp is the main doomscrolling app for older Indians. They share endless AI generated right-wing slop, their brains are absolutely cooked by this stuff.
During the great recession I went to the Kodak offices that were shutting down. I bought 4 aerons for $25 each, but could only fit 2 in my car. Fortunately, I sold 2 to a guy in the parking lot for $40 so my chairs were almost free.
The ACLU had her fill out a form where she agreed to that position in 2020. That’s why it was a topic that Fox could ask about. This is absolutely a case of a tiny minority making a point of making the candidate take a fringe position, or be bullied by the activist class.
If you compare the forward PE ratio to the regular PE ratio on most of these stocks you will see their profits are growing extremely fast. NVDA has a trailing PE of 55 but a forward PE of 32. TSM has PE of 33 but a forward of 23! A business growing profitability that fast is going to be valued at a premium.
He didn't say it would be cheap affordable housing. He said it "will relieve price pressure on existing, overpriced older housing". Which makes sense. Normally new buildings are the luxury housing and over time, as they become outdated, they become the affordable housing. Building new "affordable housing" is a fools errand, since it costs almost as much to build as luxury housing. You just build more housing period and let nature take its course over the decades.
The bigger problem is when you need a new machine fast, the apple store doesn't have anything but the base models in stock. In my org we bought a machine for a new developer who was leaving town, and were forced to buy an 8gb machine because the store didn't have other options (it was going to be a 2 week wait). As you can imagine, the machine sucked for running Docker etc and we had to sell it on facebook marketplace for a loss.
Because with the current medical cost, it would be absolutely ruinous. The root problem is American health care is far too expensive. The entire system is massively wasteful and complex.
