> If you can fully describe what you need to the degree ambiguity is removed, you’ve already built the thing.

Trying to get my company to realize this right now.

Probably the most efficient way to work, would be on a video call including the product person/stakeholder, designer, and me, the one responsible for the actual code, so that we can churn through the now incredibly fast and cheap implementation step together in pure alignment.

You could probably do it async but it’s so much faster to not have to keep waiting for one another.

Who hurt you?

Also what are you even proposing/advocating for here?

This meta-state-of-company context is just as capturable as anything else with the right lines of questioning and spyware and UI/UX to elicit it.

Reads like slop to me. Reeeeeally verbose and many “it’s not just …, it’s …” all over the place.

Works until it has access to write to external systems and your agent is slopping up Linear or GitHub without you knowing, identified as you.

Yup. This, to me, provides another explanation for why the social contract is being used as toilet paper by the owner class. They literally see the writing on the wall.

AI is a vampire. Coming to your corner of the world, to suck your economic blood, eventually. It’s hard to ignore the accelerated decline that started in late 2022/early 2023.

Bro, what? $2k? I just double checked and everything available for less than $2k is awful if you care about, IDK, having a family, a pet, a kitchen, outdoor space, green space, not having to share everything, including peace and quiet, with a revolving cast of characters.

Not that these things are required to “live,” but I certainly am not interested in making these tradeoffs.

Well, Discord is from a gaming lineage. Definitely lots of script kiddies and pros alike hang out in various servers. It’s sort of like the forums of yesteryear, but more walled-garden, for better or worse.

Probably goes without saying here, but gaming tends to be an on-ramp for getting young people into computers/tech/programming. I started reversing, hacking, and writing bots for old MMOs to try to avoid the grind. I ended up enjoying writing naughty code more than playing the games themselves.

You don’t need a phone to use Discord AFAIK, but in my elderly imagination every teen is already on Discord.

Yeah, I agree with that assessment too.

In my estimation, that’s memetics and signaling to an in-group about who they want their audience to think their audience is.

That’s why I did it. Oh, and it’s nice to be able to chat with potential users. By why not Slack or Teams?

jondwillis··on MiniMax M2.1: Built for Real-World Complex Tasks, Multi-Language Programming
> MiniMax has been continuously transforming itself in a more AI-native way. The core driving forces of this process are models, Agent scaffolding, and organization. Throughout the exploration process, we have gained increasingly deeper understanding of these three aspects. Today we are releasing updates to the model component, namely MiniMax M2.1, hoping to help more enterprises and individuals find more AI-native ways of working (and living) sooner.

This compresses to: “We are updating our model, MiniMax, to 2.1. Agent harnesses exist and Agents are getting more capable.”

A good model and agent harness, pointed at the task of writing this post, might suggest less verbosity and complexity— it comes off as fake and hype-chasing to me, even if your model is actually good. I disengage there.

I saw yall give a lightning talk recently and it was similarly hype-y. Perhaps this is a translation or cultural thing.
