jlteran··on Ask HN: When did the Y Combinator home page change?
I figured it was probably this morning. I hadn't been to the home page in a week so I thought maybe I missed the announcement or something.

jlteran··on Ask HN:Feedback about my new blog
Like ASquare said, it's obvious English is not your first language. If you want to keep your readers engaged and coming back, attempt to have native english speakers proofread through your writings first before publishing. You might want to look into Grammarly.com I've never used it before, but I think it might help your particular case.
jlteran··on How to get users? Guide/Tips
Do a search for growth hacking on google and you might get some pretty good insights. A good result I found is a growth hacking guide from QuickSprout, looks promising. http://www.quicksprout.com/the-definitive-guide-to-growth-ha...

If you are willing to invest time and money, OneMonth is rolling out a new course on Growth Hacking next month. http://get.onemonthgrowthhacking.com/?lrRef=e8Mmls

jlteran··on Ask HN: What do you listen to while coding (and how)?
I like listening to Electronic Dance Music because it gets me pumped and I can code for longer hours at a time. A good source of the latest EDM is Spinnin' Sessions on Youtube. They roll out 1 hour sessions every Thursday. http://bit.ly/1gX4ge6
jlteran··on Ask HN: SEO beginners (similar to Hartl for Rails) guide for engineers?

jlteran··on Ask HN: Tips for a productive partnership
I work with a team of three (remotely) and I have to say Asana and Hipchat are what keep us productive. My team uses Asana for managing tasks, planning and running meetings, project management, and so much more. Check out this link and watch the videos to see all the things you can do with Asana. https://asana.com/guide/explore/videos/get-started I've never used Basecamp so I can't speak about the differences. We use HipChat as well for team-based chat. I highly recommend it.
jlteran··on The Worst Part of YC
I'm also curious to hear the answer to this question. Last time I applied, it was only with an idea that had not yet been implemented. Now, I am waiting to see if my current idea has traction before applying to YC. I think they see traction as a very important factor in accepting you into YC. I might be wrong though.
jlteran··on Sam Altman interviewed on CNN Money [video]
I like your view on this. Although I would like to say that I'm not in it for the money, the truth is, many of us are in it for the money. It's that additional part of you wanting to do something great, building a product you are extremely passionate about, that far outweighs any want for money, as is in my case. I live by the philosophy that if you work hard on an idea that you're passionate about, and as you say, will create tons of value or change the world in some way, then success will definitely come knocking.
jlteran··on Ask HN: Best Time To Visit SF This Summer?
What would you say are the advantages of visiting in Sept/Oct over visiting during the months of June/July/Aug?
jlteran··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (May 2013)
I just applied for the Avionics (Software) team. I'm still a college student, so I applied for Internship/Co-op. Looking forward to hearing back from you guys!
jlteran··on The Most Important Part of Your Hackathon? Your Sponsors.
I agree with martinoma, I was just at a hackathon this past weekend, and everyone signed up to have fun rather than compete for prize money/gadgets. We didn't know about the prizes until the winners were announced, nonetheless about 40-50 people showed up, and the prizes ended up being pretty cool gadgets, of which included 3 rasberry pi's. The theme of the hackathon was "Interacting with the real world." So we had to fiddle around more with hardware and less with the software. It was my first hackathon and I really enjoyed it, looking forward to attending many more in the future, primarily to have fun and meet people with similar interests.
jlteran··on Offer HN: Free SEO For Your Startup/Company (SF bay area)
This is amazing! I wish I had my site up and running to take advantage of your amazing service! Although I don't live in SF, it is my goal to one day get there! Would it be alright for me to e-mail you, just introducing myself so that one day in the near future you can give me tips about SEO? I'm just a college student/aspiring entrepreneur studying Computer Science at the University of Arizona.
jlteran··on It's Done I'm Shipping It
Really looking forward to seeing what it is you will be shipping tomorrow! I myself have been working on an idea for about a couple of months now, and I can relate to what your are going through! I just hope that I can ship my product pretty soon as well! Once you ship, you'll gain much more insight on your product through customer feedback, which I believe is the most valuable part of your product once you have shipped!

jlteran··on Homegrown Computer Science for Middle Schoolers
I only wish I could have learned programming at an earlier age.. I didn't write my first line of code until my first day of college in my Intro to CS course and I have to say, prior knowledge of programming would have come in handy! I applaud anyone willing to introduce programming to kids at a younger age!
jlteran··on Y Combinator interview decisions postponed to November 15
Thanks for notifying us, but I'm not sure I can take three more days of suspense waiting to find out! Best of luck to all those who applied!
jlteran··on Rate My Startup: TrivialMobile.com
I watched the 1 minute video on your home page. I liked how fast and easy it is to get an app going. I think you have something going here with this idea.
