jevans··on Ask PG: What Changed?
That's not true. The article's claim was that an example of hacking a non-computer system was the "2nd most important question."
jevans··on Show HN: I mixed selling t-shirts with a little bit of game theory
But the idea is that the site presents itself in a way that is optimal based on the medium being used by the user, right?

Why would "degrade" be the better way to refer to that idea?

jevans··on How to invite people to Google+
I'll go ahead and join in with the begging.. I would greatly appreciate it. Email redacted. Thank you!
jevans··on The Ghetto Called Facebook
I just thing people don't care how technically difficult a game was to make; they just care if it's fun. The issue of these games all relying on the same underlying psychology to cultivate addiction is also relevant, of course

I'm not sure I would qualify Google's response as "speedy." On the Reddit thread, the developer of the real Guitar Solo Lite claims to have been attempting to contact Google about this issue through various channels for a week with no response. http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/fvepu/someone_just_...

Just replied to his comment.. I just registered the domain last night, didn't check if it had been abused previously. :\
jevans··on Do something new every day in 2011
Thanks for letting me know.. I never thought to check if a domain was abused before buying it. I just registered the domain last night.
jevans··on Do something new every day in 2011
This is probably not even to the point of being a minimum viable product yet, but I've ran out of time (it's past midnight!) so here it is. The idea is to enable tracking/sharing inspiration for doing something new every day in 2011. The inspirational subreddit is here: http://www.reddit.com/r/somethingnew

The code's available here: https://github.com/artfuldodger/Something-New

I'm pretty new to RoR and am a horrible designer. If anyone wants to jump in and help, that'd be awesome.

jevans··on Ask HN: Who's Hiring? (December 2010 Edition)
Not sure if it's your issue or Facebook's, but when I click the "Sign Up or Log In" button, the Facebook permissions dialog window just says "An error occurred. Please try again later."
jevans··on Celebrate Whyday
Huh. I always thought the HN Fun Police were mythical.
