We really should lock up the inventor of lead.

So complaining works then?

IPv6 support for what?

LLMs are good at building dashboards, they are much less helpful at fixing reliability issues.

Yeah, the timeline just does not make sense. It makes more sense the other way round that the collapse made iron more appealing.

In Sweden we solved this by putting most power lines under ground and Sweden has the same population density and is larger. Power outages during storms is a thing of the past in most of Sweden.

Not saying this option would be better, we started this project way before batteries was a realistic option.

Incompetence and carelessness is rampant in our industry abd with vibe coding it has only gotten worse.

> a whole bunch of their execs come from Meta, and all those guys learned the hard way.

Apparently they have not learned, or they learned the wrong lesson. I do not think they leak it intentionally as hoarding is typically more profitable than selling but anyone who has been in the industry for some time knows that the move fast and break things attitude has caused enormous amounts of data leaks.

Consumption of cheap alcohol is going down too and we can see the same trend among young people even in countries experiencing decreases in CoL.

You see the same trend in countries without a crashing economy. The economy is not the main reason.

Yes, they are on Discord.

It used to be true for all non-alcoholic beers in Sweden but it is not true anymore, do it is very possible that all non-alcoholic beers are actually bad where they live. Or they just base their comment on old data.

Such a disclaimer does not even remove all legal liability, it just reduces it.

As an open source developer I hate this attitude. If you do not care about the users why are you even releasing the software?

I already build software where I hold myself to a higher standard than malware, so not sure I get your point. Why not strive for a better world with good software?

So that answer us no because such software does virtually not exist.

Yeah, people like him is what the doenvote button is intended for.

That just sounds like another hobbyhorse.

It is also similar to an old Norse name: Floki.

Plenty of strong indications, including the lawsuits from former staff working for him and his mom.

Yeah, that is the main thing which makes to board look bad. Mulleweg has always been a problem and will not stop being so. They should have resigned.

Legally the board has the duty to represent all shareholders, minority and majority, and of they cannot they have to resign.

In my country if I do not pay my taxes I do not get thrown in jail. Tax fraud gets you thrown in jail, but correctly declaring income but just not paying does not get you thrown in jail since we abolished debtors prison. And when we had debtors prison any debt could throw you in prison so that was a terrible definition since it means Sweden has no tax right now and in the past any debt would have been tax.

So countries without their own currency don't have taxation? Not all countries can print money.

8% for Stripe? Why would anyone have to pay that when my tiny company pays 1.5%?

I hate Oracle and many of their products and long term it may be a blessing but a lot of conpanies, government agencies, hospitals, etc rely on their diverse suite of enterprise software.

What makes to possible collapse of Oracle worse is that they have an actual business too that is currently getting cannibalized to feed the AI projects. If coreweave fails that is bad but oracle failing will be worse.

Good product ... not really. It has some nice features but it is user hostile, buggy and with a bad manual. Running the Oracle database was quite shocking, surprisingly low quality.

We still do not know who did it as several experts in diving have claimed that the story published by the journalists is not possible and the German police investigation seems to have stalled.

Still seems like any of Russia, Ukraine or Ukrainian citizens on their own initiative could have dove it.

NATO does not need to win a war. They just need to hurt Russia bad enough Ukraine wins.
