When I switched to Chrome I did because it felt better. The decision would be tougher today because Firefox, Chrome and Opera (Edge has to mature) are great options and not that different in performance and features. Change is tougher now because the perceived value isn't really there in most cases.

I guess that announcement makes sense for professional content producers, but this is mostly a clickbait product. One that we won't probably see in real life, although it's clear that VR has pushed interest for 360 videos.

Good as an option, probably, but most of the time flat video is ideal. We'll see if that changes with these products or the ones made for big audiences (Samsung Gear 360, and LG Cam 360). I wouldn't bet my life on it. Adventure cameras have already reached their limits, it seems, for example, and I see a similar scenario on this case.

This is a new incredible feat from The Raspberry Pi foundation, and I'm impressed by the modest media coverage there's been here and there. In fact, I think we've got here a clear example of the curse of human expectations (http://theunshut.com/2016/02/29/raspberry-pi-3-and-the-curse...).

Having an (almost) complete PC for $35 with WiFi and the rest of its features is something amazing that seems to be quite normal. It amazes (and saddens) me how most people is unimpressed by this.

It's ironic that this effort is trying to get gamers to buy Steam Machines when gamers already have machines far more powerful than the ones launched. Valve will have a big problem if they want to convince traditional console gamers. Which are the benefits for them if the cost is bigger? It seems TCO is good on Steam Machines on the long run but that's a tough argument for people that want instant gratification.

Steam Link seems the way to go for most HN readers, I guess, and that is the device I would buy if I had to choose. BTW, a question on this: I've read somewhere that although NVIDIA Shield works only with NVIDIA GPUs, the Steam Link will work also with AMD GPUs. Valve doesn't confirm this but says that it supports OS X, Linux and Windows PCs. Any ideas? Doesn't it run on NVIDIA's GameStream, like NV Shield does?

The ASUS PB287Q, AOC U2868PQU and Samsung U28D590D all support UHD resolutions at 60Hz and DisplayPort 1.2 SST. That means that they support working with just "one tile", they don't give the problems the previous dual-tile solutions.

I don't really see the problem with these new monitors that are good enough for most people. Good price, the TN panels are quite decent (confirmed by reviews both at The Tech Report (http://techreport.com/review/26510/4k-for-649-asus-pb287q-mo...) and KitGuru (http://www.kitguru.net/peripherals/monitors/zardon/aoc-u2868...).

Yes, you do need the best GPUs in order to take advantage of games in 4K. And yes, OS support is still incomplete. Anyway those trade offs are not that important if you are not a gamer and you can take advantage of that desktop area.

There's always good reasons for waiting. They could lead to never take advantage of improvements: you know, new improvements could be on the horizon when the ones you waited for finally arrive. And the story repeats itself...
