jammmuel··on 2015 Gates Annual Letter
There are many one-to-many device models which can work. Shameless plug to what we're working on at onebillion:

jammmuel··on The New Haskell Homepage
I dislike this. Where is the 'call for me to do something'? Why are there blurred people on an escalator(?). Don't make me pick between concise and reliable. I'm more than willing to distill your messaging if it would help in any way. If only as an alternative.
jammmuel··on Show HN: Font Awesome to PNG
Not to mention lack of alpha transparency.

We're working on something similar for younger learners:

jammmuel··on Don't End The Week With Nothing
There is some truth in this, yet I'd describe myself as fortunate and passionate, not elite.
jammmuel··on Don't End The Week With Nothing
It's pretty simple. Do what you love doing. If you don't, move on. I love what I do. It's not a about money. It's about doing good by doing what you love.
jammmuel··on Pngquant vs pngcrush vs optipng vs pngnq
This is a pointlessramble. The winner(s) produce 8-bit dithered PNGs.
jammmuel··on My Experience in the Educational Apps Market – 2013 report
I'm wondering whether Apple will ever offer either: 1] a dedicated education app store, invisible to non-volume purchasers. 2] a mechanism for allowing volume purchases of in-app content.
jammmuel··on Mozilla's New Fira Typeface
I'm not a fan. I just don't get why they adapted FF Meta. It's overly complex (the 'g' for example), and not a great display font. They should strive for simplicity, rather than individuality. Android's Roboto and iOS's Helvetica Neue achieve this, my personal preference being for for latter.
jammmuel··on Google and Adobe team up to improve fonts on iOS and Linux
Fuzziness is subjective. iOS uses a similar font rendering method to OS X, without subpixel rendering. See: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2012/04/24/a-closer-look-at-...
jammmuel··on Blink: A rendering engine for the Chromium project
I find this a doubled-edged sword. Monocultures are said to foster a culture of laziness, apathy. This hasn't been the case with WebKit. Don't get me wrong - competition is healthy. I'm simply thinking of how Jovinder experiences the web.
jammmuel··on Why I created Comic Sans
Something with more gravitas. Palatino?
jammmuel··on Firefox introduces PDF viewer
That seems to be what they do, in my experience.
jammmuel··on A List Apart 5.0
As has been mentioned, the main header is a typographic curiosity, not a bug. Good design is often controversial. Programmer mentally is at odds with this notion. I like what they've done. It has brought greater focus to the article content. I'm all for bigger type, and the need to scroll is a non-issue in my mind.
jammmuel··on The London Underground turns 150. See how the tube map has changed
Care to elaborate? I think it's a well-worked responsive design. The only annoyance is the navigation bar flitting up and down on scroll.
jammmuel··on Hacker News: DMCA
Is that a childs' handwriting?
jammmuel··on Defold - Win/Mac/Linux/Android/iOS game engine
I can see the benefit of having a single codebase, but how would this fare against the likes of Unity, where the optimal backend is used for each platform?
jammmuel··on EBay 'pays £1.2m in UK tax' on sales of £800m
Why? I doubt it's an order of magnitude out.
jammmuel··on Mailrox - a web app to quickly build bulletproof HTML emails
That's not a very helpful comment, considering the context of this app.
jammmuel··on Bootstrap 2.1 released
One of my main beefs with Bootstrap was that it felt cramped. The switch to 14px body text with 20px line height addresses that. Personally, I'd increase the default line height a bit more.

Since when is S3 a 'database'?
jammmuel··on Why Apple Doesn’t Have Its Own Music Streaming Service
Wouldn't a better title be: "Why Apple doesn't have its own music subscription service"
jammmuel··on Microsoft's decision of removing Aero from Windows 8 is a blunder (editorial)
A blunder because 'I don't like it'?
jammmuel··on Retina MacBook Pro full of Air-style proprietary parts
