jacobwyke··on Hidden work when launching a SaaS
These really depend on the product. Kwoosh, the product in the article, is a team based project management tool and so requires a way to add other team members.

As for transactional emails, we have found that its the planning, writing, designing, producing content for them that takes time and not the actual sending process.

Having read Josh's eBook on mastering email it's good to see him sharing more of his knowledge in a free course...look forward to following along with the course.
jacobwyke··on Ask HN: What have you achieved in January 2015?
Like a few other people in the comments here I started a 12 things in 12 months, where I will complete one different project each month.

January's project was http://finishonethingtoday.com, it managed to hit the top of HN for a few hours and got a lot of attention and continues to bring in visitors and has opened up a few new areas for potential projects in the future :)

jacobwyke··on Finish one thing today
Ooops. My fault for not speaking Italian :S
jacobwyke··on Web Developer Checklist
I have a template project in Basecamp that contains a similar kind of list of tasks that I use to launch all projects.

Just have to create a new project with the template for each launch and then work your way down.

jacobwyke··on Social Login Buttons Aren’t Worth It
It's a case of making it easier to get the customers permission to market to them in the future. More people will "like" your page on Facebook with a single click, than visit your website and fill in a form.
jacobwyke··on Money and The App Store: A Few Figures That Might Help an Indie Developer
This is the most indepth article I've read on iOS/appstore revenues - a must read for anybody developing for iOS.
jacobwyke··on Ask HN: How much are your clients worth?
Lifetime spend of the client.
jacobwyke··on Ask HN: Do you make time to read?
- Always carry something to read with you - so if you have 5 mins downtime you can dip into it quickly and easily.

- Try audiobooks - if you drive 30mins to work each way thats 5 hours of listening to audiobooks a week!

- Since you find time to read reddit and such, try something like dailylit.com where they email you a small section of a book each day.

jacobwyke··on Show HN: Instant object recognition
Very useful. Of course for money the easiest thing to do is have slightly differently sized notes for each denomination.
jacobwyke··on Ask HN: What kind of give aways work best for pre-launch buzz?
I'm more likely to share if I get early access..so have a signup followed by a "Share with 5 friends to get access first".
