Another major point for me is maintainability. When you are trying to figure out the type of the object that was passed in to many layers of functions across files in a legacy codebase, it's a nightmare.
Canadian. They attacked India twice, and they have been sending soldiers in to shift the borders over the recent few years. They have built artificial islands and calling international waters theirs and disputing over islands with their neighbors. Have you been following the news at all?
You may be an american citizen, but what are you ethnically? My guess was you were Chinese.
sure, chalk working people's issues down to "anti-immigration sentiment". That's how Trump got elected, and despite being liberal if the housing crisis continues, I'll be leaning toward voting any party (even conservatives) that can promise to resolve the issue of the market being flooded with this crazy influx of new immigrants and foreign buyers bringing the salaries down and property prices up.
great. You can bring your 250k+ usd income earnings, buy up real estate here and make it even more unaffordable for us canadians to own property and live here.
Yep, agreed. Universal basic income is one solution that keeps coming back as a silver bullet. Not sure what the downsides are yet, but I'm pretty certain that there's still going to be haves and have nots: just a few rich that own all the automation and resources vs the rest of us just surviving on basic income.
Maybe we'll all be ok immersed in VR adventures as long as we're fed and clothed...
I think it does. If indeed Fluid Intelligence cannot be trained, then you could say that people who seek out Novelty, Challenges, etc. are actually the sort of people who have high intelligence, than the other way around. If these 5 principles he states actually did increase intelligence, then Lumosity would work for people as it exposes you to novel brain training games that are challenging.
this article also references the Dual-N-Back study which suggested that it could be used to increase cognitive skill that was transferable. But that study was debunked. Here's a Scientific American article on that:

So what if they have low birthrate? I love visiting Japan and quite enjoy their culture. I don't want them to change and become "multicultural" and lose their cultural identity. And as a brown person, I actually agree with him and the comment below. There is one particular religion and a majority of its followers that are fundamentally incompatible with the modern world.
