Facebook might have slowed their growth but they did make a huge company before they were slowed down.

Mercury is a stealth fin-tech startup. We are currently 4 people (2 engineers, 1 designer, 1 BD/Ops) but have raised $6m from a tier A VC. We are looking to grow our team and add founding engineers.
This is my 4th company. My previous company, Heyzap, was YC09, was funded by USV+Qualcomm and was acquired for $45m last year.
Sorry for the stealthiness happy to go in to way more details on a call.
Our backend will be in Haskell, frontend React/Redux/Typescript/iOS/Android. I like generalist engineers and happy to hire smart people that are willing to learn.

Its only over the last 2 months that it is very slightly down or flat.
Seems like iPhone 8/X was already priced in the stock and its going mostly as expected.

We are looking for someone who is good at taking large amounts of information and showing it in a concise/friendly way. Mostly Photoshop/Sketch work but if they can do HTML/CSS thats good too

If you can get a $14m acq offer you can almost certainly get funding if the market is big.
The reason to register in Delaware is because of business friendly courts there. I don't believe there is a tax advantage
Not every investment will succeed which is the point of risky startup investment. And USV has an incredible amount of success (Twitter, Kickstarter, Cloudflare etc)
Also one of the other relatives could have since joined Facebook to make this a little simpler.
Also since Redis is memory backed you need more RAM then data. This can get very costly.
Another annoyance is that Redis is single process single threaded so you really have to avoid running long running queries unless you do extensive manual sharding.
(Disclaimer: it's been a few years since I had to think about these constraints so maybe some are removed in more recent versions of Redis)
At least there is a benefit to being close to the requestor in terms of bandwidth/latency so as long as the network rewards that storage should be more decentralized than mining.
So transaction fees are not insignificant.

The cloundant you are thinking of was much later. The S07 cloudant sold their domain
(I was in S07)
> So, the judgment that you have to make is a) is this market really much bigger (more than an order of magnitude) than has been exploited to date? b) Are we going to be number 1? If the answer to either a) or b) is no, then you should consider selling. If the answers to both are yes, then selling would literally mean selling yourself and your employees short.
