idkwhoiam··on Show HN: A Visual IDE for React
This reminds me of the Ext Designer tool from many years ago that was very useful in building forms with the Ext.js framework.
idkwhoiam··on HTML event handler attributes: down the rabbit hole
He could also use FormData [1] to collect values from the form

idkwhoiam··on A man bought a cruise ship on Craigslist
That's basically every sailing channel on Youtube.
idkwhoiam··on A dirty dish by the sink can be a big marriage problem
I made a decision to not get married because I don't want these kind of problems and drama in my life. Also, depending on your country of residence, marriage is probably the worst deal in your life.
idkwhoiam··on Show HN: I Made a Stupid Game
Stupid game is my favourite kind of game. Great job!

idkwhoiam··on Ask HN: How do you cope with possible nuclear threat?
I can think of a scenario where self preservation does not work: one of these sh_theads have cancer and only have X days to live.
idkwhoiam··on Ask HN: How do you cope with possible nuclear threat?
I have a very rough plan of where I'd move if things started to look really bad. That's the only thing under my control.
idkwhoiam··on Ukraine calls on hacker underground to defend against Russia
"Ukraine made the decision to completely denuclearize. In exchange, the U.S., the U.K. and Russia would guarantee Ukraine's security in a 1994 agreement known as the Budapest Memorandum." [0]

We can see this security guarantee in action right now. Same will happen with NATO's mutual defense guarantee.

idkwhoiam··on Ukraine calls on hacker underground to defend against Russia
> No NATO state will enter into this conflict, Putin has been pretty openly threatening with nuclear annihilation This basically means 2 things: 1. NATO is dead. 2. Putin is free to do whatever he wants wherever he chooses.
idkwhoiam··on Snowboarding for Geeks: An Ultimate Guide (2018)
I've been snowboarding for a few years and I always wear protection. Helmet, goggles, knee pads, wrist guards, etc. And as somebody already mentioned it is very important to learn how to fall to minimize the potential damage.
idkwhoiam··on Make Front End Shit Again (2018)

idkwhoiam··on 1Password Has Raised $620M
Re #1. People normally maintain their dish washers, cars, and software off work hours.

Edit: agree with the rest

idkwhoiam··on Singapore: Sovereign City
Well maybe that's why it's safe and clean.
idkwhoiam··on Vercel raises $150M Series D
IMO this is .com bubble v2 in the making

Edit: grammar

idkwhoiam··on PHP is worth learning and using
Virtual server is great except now you are reponsible for server management, SSL certificates, backups, DB, firewall configuration, mail server, etc. I don't want any of that which brings me to PaaS providers like Heroku and Vercel where the cost is many times higher.
idkwhoiam··on PHP is worth learning and using
To me personally PHP is the cheapest way of building a dynamic website. Just a few euros/dollars a month will get you a shared web hosting plan with full support for the LAMP stack & free email.

idkwhoiam··on European Parliament: UK and US are global hubs for money laundering, tax evasion
And EU is a hub of excessive taxation
idkwhoiam··on Forget going back to the office – people are just quitting instead
IMO these people are shooting themselves in the foot long term. If companies learn to WFH full time these people will eventually be replaced with cheaper labour from oversees.

idkwhoiam··on Modern Javascript: Everything you missed over the last 10 years (2020)
My only issue with CSS is the absence of container queries [1]. Now I need to rely on size listeners of the container element to make my components truly responsive. Media Queries do not work for components. CSS Grid & Flexbox are nice but not enough to achieve radical layout changes for certain breakpoints.

idkwhoiam··on Google fined €100M by Italian antitrust over Google Play abuse of dominance
What a steaming pile of digested waste material. Have they ever thought about fixing their app? There are plenty of Android Auto apps on the store.
idkwhoiam··on Building React and Vue Support for Tailwind UI
Checkmate!
idkwhoiam··on TailwindCSS JIT with arbitrary values
Utility css frameworks seem to boost productivity but was that ever a problem? IMO the big problem with CSS is maintainability. I was all hype about Tailwind CSS until I had to go back to a project and make adjustments. This soup of CSS classes is no better than a long regexp.
idkwhoiam··on Posture: Is the Pandemic Breaking Our Backs?
I never had back problems but lockdown is doing its thing. I used to be involved in all kinds of indoor team sports (soccer, basketball, volleyball) & was a regular visitor to a gym. I don't move much nowadays. I go for a walk every evening. I have a pair of dumbells. Needless to say it does not replace a fully equipped gym. There's no room for a proper power rack in my tiny apartment. So yeah, I hope this pandemic ends before I develop health issues from sitting too much.
